Metal Ghost #276 Posted November 1, 2012 Isn't the.goldex.ax's copy of Penguin Land still on eBay? It is, but I'm afraid that it's a bit out of my league at this point. Compared to the starting point, any offer I could give would probably be taken as an insult.

I would think this is in your price range. http://www.gooddealgames.com/inventory/Colecovision.html You have to remember a lot of times when the producer is out of stock there are still some available with gooddealgames. I have bought from him serveral times and never had a problem

I don't think the GDG version is still the blue cart, or is it?

I don't think the GDG version is still the blue cart, or is it? Didn't look, I thought they were all blue carts but that would be a J-F question. I think he is just looking for the game so he can play it not based on which one it is and is it more valuable. You might be able to get a high price on ebay so that would be more beneficial for you but I was just trying to help a fellow member out to look somewhere else that has close to release type prices that hopefully he can afford. If you can get a high price from some guy that doesn't look on atariage then that is an awesome thing for your pocket book.
Metal Ghost #280 Posted November 1, 2012 Just had a 'conversation' with Ax and with Mike over at GDG, so I'm all set. Thanks to both Dan and Ax!! I did not, however, think to ask Mike about cart color though. I am hoping that it's the blue cart, but only because my girls would think that's cooler, but you are 100% correct Dan: just looking to be able to play the cart with me and the family, so this works out for me. And, I hope that for Ax a bidding war starts and he get's double what he's asking....I'm all about winners-all-around here at AA! On a side note, thanks Dan for telling me about GDG. I didn't even know they exisited, but they're kind of just down the road from me in Buffalo (I'm in Syracuse), so I'm psyched to here about it!

Pixelboy #284 Posted November 1, 2012 Not to crash the party, but could we please get back on topic.... Okay then, how many exemplaries left? Also, if you reach 220 pre-orders, that means you're keeping 30 SGMs for replacement purposes? Isn't that a bit much? I would think 15 should be more than enough... I would think 15 should be more than enough... Sold out. No more payments, please. I have 250 connectors. Used 5 so far for testing. Plan to save another 5 for future use. That leaves me with 240 connectors. 220 orders means 20 connectors left. Then we have manufacturing. Testing on manufacturing is too expensive for this project, so I will testing myself before shipping. Supposing 5% defect margin, which is pretty high actually, that means 8 boards left as replacements. Sounds appropriated to me. For those desperate, someone, whose name I am not going to reveal (and no, it isn't me), paid for 10 SGMs and asked me to place them on eBay. So I will be doing that.

You'll be putting them up on eBay in December?

128Kgames #288 Posted November 1, 2012 How about this.... Nameplate is just a proof printed on paper. Final will use the same brushed aluminum material as the ColecoVision nameplate. Very, very nice man, great job! Does the SGM have a nameplate on the front as well, like the ColecoVision does? Or is it just on top?

+opcode #297 Posted November 8, 2012 Some major milestones, and a few drawbacks too. I am going to receive the 2nd batch of plastic case samples this Monday. They had a few issues with the tool last time, so hopefully everything has been fixed by now. If so, we would be ready to start manufacturing of the case next week. We have also started printing the box and manual today, should have everything next week. So those are two less major components to worry about. PCB is also supposed to go into manufacturing next week, as beta has been very successful so far, and we are going to use the weekend to give testing a final major push. Now the bad news; - the company that was going to manufacture the foam inserts stopped replying to my emails. Now looking for another company. - we had a problem with the nameplate, the company that was going to produce it couldn't produce rounded corners, but we might have found another company that can, still checking. - and the worse news of all, unfortunately I won't be able to produce the game catalog at this time. Two reasons, I was going to print in China, but was afraid to use any company there before using them for something less critical first, like the Club magazine. Since that never happened I decided to print in the US to be safe, as quality is paramount in this project. That of course had a huge impact on budget, and I will be paying more than twice just to have the box and manual done. However I was prepared to absorb the extra costs of the catalog, as I had planned to print thousand of copies and use that forever with all my games. But then we get to problem #2, and it is the fact that the catalog was already outdated since most of my planned MSX ports have been transferred to Pixelboy. With that I have decided to postpone the catalog until next year, when we will have the time to go back to it and fix everything. However fear not, as everybody that ordered the SGM will receive a copy of the catalog free of charge next year. I just didn't want to delay the SGM because of the catalog. Now, and here is the good news, that doesn't mean you guys aren't going to receive a game catalog with the SGM... So that is it for now...
+Ransom #298 Posted November 8, 2012 Thank you for the update! (I can't believe how much I'm looking forward to having the SGM and DK....and hopefully Pac Man Collection and Space Invaders collection if you decide to re-release them....and Rally-X...and...) Pixelboy #299 Posted November 8, 2012 I dunno... Seems to me the foam insert problem would be "the worst news of all"... Does that mean I won't be getting my sample ADAM AutoDialer back?

Even if that was the case you would have kept mine, so no problems there. I never sent the autodialer as the manufacturer stopped answering my emails before I had the chance to send them the module.
