jacobus
Picked up a 820 on eBay recently - noticed as I was unpacking the box that it made lots of rattling noises. Most of the breakage seems to be confined to the pegs for holding the ribbon, although there is a little bit of shrapnel that worries me. The most alarming part is the (apparent) issue with the print head. It looks like the right hand side (see red arrow) is missing the copper part and is consequently causing the whole thing to be off kilter. Can anyone tell me of the print head is OK like that, or should I start looking for a replacement mechanism? If I need a replacement, can anyone suggest a source (B&C are all out). thanks! From the Best Electronics catalog addendum. The main catalog may have other repair parts but I don't have a copy to check Atari 820 Printer Mechanism CA014701 $29.
