Chandler Posted October 10, 2012 Share Posted October 10, 2012 i have an STFM with a 6 chip TOS 1.02 and i want to update to a 2 chip 1.04 version (still the same 28 pin version) i thought it was the 2 or 3 solder pads marked 256K that needed to be moved to 1M is that all i need to do? tried it today and no joy is there something else needed? thanks :0) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
+Guitarman Posted October 10, 2012 Share Posted October 10, 2012 Here is a picture of a 2 chip STF. If you look along side of the ROM area, there are 2 sets of solder pads for 256K and 1M. The 1M pads should have a drop of solder connecting the pads. The 256K pads need to be cleared. If you look at the row of resistors right below the power supply, there is a pad there. Make sure 1M has solder and 256K does not. Also, make sure the HI and LO chips are in the right sockets. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
