Buyatari #1 Posted February 5, 2003 I bought an Atari 2000 for $2000.00. The unit was a childhood toy and has wear. Worse yet the second controller is intermittent at best. Now, I can send it back and get my money back BUT I may never see another. What do you think? Adam
CPUWIZ #2 Posted February 5, 2003 Keep it and send me my reward.
Godzilla #3 Posted February 5, 2003 fix the controller maybe? and uhm whats an atari 2000? pictures/url/etc anywhere? if it was $2g large I'm assuming it's some unreleased hardware or something?
Marco #4 Posted February 5, 2003 Send it back so I beat you at Atari 2600 proto hardware again Serioulsy, sorry to hear it's not what you had hoped/paid for. I would keep it, and keep on searching for another one and sell this one when you've found one more. They're out there and since the number of people willing to pay the prices you can, is very small, I'm sure you'll be able to get another one. Cheers, Marco
MegaManFan #5 Posted February 5, 2003 I wouldn't part with it if I was you. Repair, maybe. Get a small refund, perhaps. Keep the sucka though.

ZylonBane #16 Posted February 6, 2003 How can an unreleased prototype have been someone's childhood toy?
MrRetroGamer #17 Posted February 6, 2003 How can an unreleased prototype have been someone's childhood toy? Maybe the guy who actually made it had a kid at home?

badbrad #19 Posted February 6, 2003 I think it has something to do with the *new* Marco being member number 2600 or something...just a guess.
+Marc Oberhäuser #20 Posted February 6, 2003 Hi Adam, I would keep it. If you come across another CX2000 in a better shape just replace it and sell the old one (to me for example:). Take care, Marc.
Thomas Jentzsch #21 Posted February 6, 2003 Cheers,Marco Umm, why are there 2 Marcos suddenly? Sorry if I missed something ... It's still the same good old Marco, just with a new member number. BTW: Anybody interested in #1000?

moycon #24 Posted February 6, 2003 Can I have #69 ?? *ducks shoe* Sweet buy Buyatari. I say if you can afford the hit. Keep it. Like you stated, you may never come across another and wind up depressed and hating yourself later, your wife will get sick of your attitude and you'll wind up alone and friendless, bumming money to buy cheap wine, sleep in a gutt.... Well you get the picture. Basically what I'm trying to say is can't the joystick be repaired?
Curt Vendel #25 Posted February 6, 2003 Marco Do you have any 5200 or 7800 prototype hardware items? Adam Adam... Marco may have you beat on some collectables, especially in the coming month or two... once that C-130 cargo plane loads up and flies over his next collectable Adam, I have a couple of 2000's and better yet I also stay in touch with both or it's creators, so if you want me to have a look at it and see if I can fix it, let me know... glad you and seller hooked up, he's a nice guy and wanted to make sure it went to a good home and I see it did :-) BTW: I will post up an inventory slide of actual CX-2000 packaging exploded view... it got all the way to them designing the mechanicals of the packaging to ship and sell them inside of... Atari went to great lengths and great expense with their dead-ends. Curt
