€-JagFest 2012

Recommended Posts

Seems that the €-JagFest is on the 3rd of November 2012 at the usual place in Kaarts.

Strangely nobody did an announcement on AtariAge while it is only less than 3 weeks away.

Atari Kaarts? ;-)

I think they only decided on the date and location quite recently, they were looking at possibilities for a different venue later in the year but that wasn't possible.

Lol, you do know Kaarts is German for Karts :P

I meant of course in "Kaarst". My German geography is not so good :(

The twitter message is from 5 October so the decision was indeed made quite recently. But now 10 days later I would have expected an announcement here.

Hey guys,

I'm sorry for the confusion and the late "official" announcement. Like "masematte" already posted, the date and the location has changed that much more people can come to the ejagfest 2012.

Latest news:

I hope to see some of you soon at the ejagfest. A press release will follow later this week. I still wait for some information regarding the shown highlights.

cheers,

Björn

edit: Note: the official website is not updated yet, because I can't reach Lars (who is in charge of this).

+++ Press Release +++ Atari Jaguar Europe Festival 2012+++

*** approved for immediate publication ***

Announcement of the Atari Jaguar Europe Festival 2012

The Atari Jaguar Europe Festival, "ejagfest" in short, takes place on November 24th of this year in Duisburg (near Düsseldorf), Germany.

The Atari Jaguar Europe Festival is an annual festival for all Atari Jaguar and Lynx fans, developers and retailers. Open-minded fans of other video game systems are welcome, of course.

The „Atari Jaguar Europe Festival is a meeting of retro gaming fans from all over Europe. The focus of attention is Atari and all consoles of the cult lable. All of you who would like to play systems like the Jaguar, Lynx, VCS 2600, 5200, 7800 or on a trusty homecomputer of the 80s, this is the right place.

Retro games, homebrew announcements / presentations, prototypes believed to be lost and demos of all kind can be experienced on the ejagfest. Developers from all over Europe regularly take the opportunity to present their new developments on the festival, and sometimes even have exclusive items for sale. Another highlight was the presentation of the only working “High-res Jaguar Virtual Reality Headset” in existence, which was shown for the first time in Europe on the ejagfest in the year 2007.

Competitions such as “Club Drive” or “Kasumi Ninja” make sure everyone has a fun time. Next to these fun competitions, the official European championship in “Checkered Flag” for the Lynx is taking place each year. To make the event complete there are retro game retailers to offer Jaguar/Lynx titles and a variety of other retro games and systems.

Highlights of this year:

16 32 bit Systems:

Nick Harlow, offers used and new games for different Atari Systems.

Matthias Domin:

Shows his new Jaguar game „Impulse X“. Hopefully ready and for sale.

Atari Shop NL:

Sells Retro-Games and Goodies for different systems.

Mr.Coke shows some Atari ST Demos:

For example the „Yet Another 4KB Intro“, which was the winner of the Outline2012 Demo-Show in Oktober 2012. Further he shows some hand selected Demos / Intros on his Atari mashine and tells us something about the Atari Demo scene.

Team Reboot

Shows and hopefully also sells „Kobayashi Maru Final CD“ for Jaguar CD.

Shows „Rebooteroids“ in it's latest version (playable)

SCPCD's Jagtopus flash cart on display

Shows CVSD's Ladybugged and Dance Dance Xirius Space Party latest versions.

CDI from the nexgam forum

Shows and sells his „Atari Jaguar Video 4 DVD Pack Projekt“ which is a collection of Jaguar related vidoes and advertising.

Competitions:

  • Checkered Flag European Championship (Atari Lynx)

  • Community selected Cup (Jaguar, Lynx or ST)

This list is nowhere complete; every visitor who has something to show is welcome to. Please let us know in advance if possible.

All of you who enjoy retro games and a nice chat with like-minded people are welcome to join us.

This year is the event‘s 12th anniversary and takes place for the 1st time in a new location in Duisburg near Düsseldorf.

Opening is on 24th November at 10:00 AM. Entrance fee is 9,00 Euro.

Ok, here is the missing part:

GroovyBee:

Shows the 7800 - XM and several XM mandatory games.

Shows the Jag - Star Raiders demo.

Shows the Jag - New mystery game demo exclusive to eJagFest.

And some Homebrew hardware for 7800/Jag (if projects can be finished in time).

Ah... and I will be in England then, so no chance to go. :-(

Best wishes to all my friends who will be there. Greetings!

Douglas Little of Black Scorpion Software has also kindly allowed Livewire to be demonstrated at this year's ejagfest - serious Jaguar fans shouldn't need any more convincing to attend this one!
