Arkhan #1 Posted October 19, 2012 I have an Apple IIC for sale. Since I have a IIC+ w/ external drive and serial transfer cable, I really do not have a use for the IIC. It does power on and work, but the internal drive doesn't seem to read disks. It probably needs realigned, or something of that nature. It has the power brick. I also have the floppy drive for it, which again, seems to need alignment work. I am a C64 person, and realign the 1541s alot. I am guessing this is the same, but I don't really want to experiment. I tested the computer out with my working external drive and played some games on it (Horizon V and Falcons), so it all appears to be working. I can provide pictures if needed. I think 100$ for the computer and floppy drive sounds fair. They are in really nice shape. Alternatively, I would be willing to sell the IIC+ instead, if someone really wants that one instead. It's fairly yellowed though. I basically just want to slim down to one Apple IIC related setup. 125$ for the IIC+ seems reasonable. I would be keeping the working external drive either way... so I can play stuff in the meantime until I actually realign the drive! I will take pictures of them this weekend for everyone interested. Thanks!
+save2600 #2 Posted October 19, 2012 Good to know you like aligning 1541's! You should offer that as a service here.
Arkhan #3 Posted October 19, 2012 LOL, I should specify: "I realign mine every 30 seconds when the stupid thing wacks out again". Realigning the alps mechanism ones is a nightmare and a half.
R.Cade #4 Posted October 19, 2012 (edited) The IIc+ is probably worth what you are asking (or more) but the regular IIc, not so much. They go for cheap, typically... ($25 maybe) Edited October 19, 2012 by R.Cade
Arkhan #5 Posted October 19, 2012 The IIc+ is probably worth what you are asking (or more) but the regular IIc, not so much. They go for cheap, typically... ($25 maybe) Oh. I wasn't aware of this detail. Thanks for the heads up. I might just sell the IIC+, if I can get the IIc's internals working. Are the drives prone to misalignments, etc, and easy to remedy? Really I'd rather have a IIe, but I take what I can get, lol
Arkhan #6 Posted February 26, 2013 These are still available. Is anyone interested? I mostly would like to just trade for a solid Apple IIe setup instead of having two of these goofy things laying around.

ianoid #8 Posted February 27, 2013 A IIc+ is worth more than a regular IIc for sure. I think they run around $100+. What's nice is that the IIc+ doesn't have a proprietary power cable. A IIc with issues may be worth $25 or less, but a working tested IIc with power is worth a bit more, like $50+.
Arkhan #9 Posted February 27, 2013 A IIc+ is worth more than a regular IIc for sure. I think they run around $100+. What's nice is that the IIc+ doesn't have a proprietary power cable. A IIc with issues may be worth $25 or less, but a working tested IIc with power is worth a bit more, like $50+. I will take some photos. I didn't before because noone seemed interested anyway. Both machines have been tested and work. It's just the IIc's internal disk drive seems to need some work. It works fine with an external drive. I need to get those looked at too though since sometimes they can be a bit dodgy. My guess is they were banged around in storage from the people who I got them from. Honestly though, I would really just like a IIe setup that works solid, and wouldn't mind getting rid of BOTH of these things.
CGQuarterly #10 Posted February 27, 2013 I would definitely be interested in the //c. I don't know how to work on their drives, but maybe I can look it up. Seeing as how it is basically broken though, I wouldn't be willing to give a whole lot for it. $25 sounds OK, though... PM me if you'd be willing to sell it around that price, and maybe have a pic or 2. Thanks, Chris

Osgeld #13 Posted April 6, 2013 (edited) yea I gave 15 bucks for my iic, plus shipping the IIC+ has the internal power supply and a 4Mhz zip chip stock, but is a pain in the butt without an external 5.25 inch drive as the majority of // software is on the 140k disks Edited April 6, 2013 by Osgeld
