cOLeCoHiTMan
When I buy a Batman comic, I get the 1st print, this is always special... variants are sometime more special. Justice League #1 is now on 9th print... and 1st print is worth quite a bit. If you distinguish between releases I see no reason the publishers can't keep releasing and making money. If a collector wants 1st run.. he pays for it... the whole concept of making 10-20 copies and that's it when there's a demand boggles. Kiss may make only a limited run of a $1,000 book but you can't tell me Gene didn't weigh the demand before setting the print # Can you imagine if Atari said only we make one run of ET and thats it... oh wait.. bad example. I understand the desire for a re-issue...but...they do diminish the "specialness" of the 1st run and really could hurt demand for future 1st runs if people think a re-issue will happen... +Gemintronic
Limiting runs only feeds the trolls who flip games on eBay. However, making and selling homebrew is a huge effort. I can see why at some point you just have to stop making a certain game. This is the point the author should approve a publicly available ROM download. Andromeda Stardust
The only people getting butthurt over reissues are the danged resellers who flip stuff at stupid high prices. I saw a copy of the original Halo 2600 sell for $420 on eBay back in May. Now I'm happy for the opportunity to finally own one. Collectors are happy to recieve exclusive 1st-run packaging/ label art, and gamers are happy to recieve any version. If the threat of a possible second run is a deterrant for would-be resellers, then that only means more copies in the hands of genuine collectors and gamers. If I had my way, everything would be open edition.
ten-four
I asked for this ROM. Was told to hold on, it will re-release. Is this re-release Version B or Version C with high score and all extra additional programming? Confused. If this is newest, add me to the list. Hi J-F. I'm also curious if that is the final optimized version. And come the game in green cartridges.
