New Zelda:Wind Waker Demo at TRU

I stopped in at Toys R Us over lunch to see what they were doing about Zelda:Wind Waker pre-orders. I was delighted to find that the Gamecube demo kiosk had a new demo disk running, featuring ZELDA. I actually got to play it!!!

 

The demo has 3 'saves' that lets you pick between a dungeon, something to do with stealth, and a boss battle. I played the dungeon save and it was SWEET. If you played an N64 Zelda game, you can pick right up on the controls.

 

The cel shading and animation looks very nice. It's like playing a cartoon. I was able to solve a small puzzle (involving lighting torches with a torch you get from an enemy you defeat) and opened a trunk.

 

TRU isn't doing pre-orders until 2/18. They haven't started in-store at Best Buy yet either, but you can do a preorder (with bonus disc) online at Best Buy.

 

This looks like a no-brainer purchase for 'cube owners! I'm stoked.

When I went to GameStop to pick up Skies of Arcadia Legends they had that demo in. I waited to play it, but the guy on it wouldn't let me... I'll have to go back later or something.

 

Another thing about the game : it looks beautiful in motion. If the screenshots made you doubt the style, see it moving and you will be impressed.

I pre-ordered mine online at EBGames.com as they are sending a free bonus disc to people on February 16th. What's on the bonus disc? Why, I'm glad you asked!

Can't wait to play these, much less The Wind Walker.
