Suggestions for 8-Mb Utility Flash Cartridge?

Recommended Posts

I want to make a compilation of "best" utilities for an 8-Mb flash cart. Disk Editors, copiers, Text Editors, etc. I'm going to use the MaxFlash Studio, so it is pretty flexible.

Suggestions for inclusion?

Thanks,

Larry

The problem there is that many utilities need to operate under a Dos.

I don't know if any existing Dos allows using Atarimax carts as a virtual disk. It'd be a handy accompanyment especially for Ultimate 1 Meg users who don't also have an IDE or flash drive. Read-only mode would be easy to do, allowing writes somewhat harder because they use huge blocksize for erase/write cycles.

There was this FABULOUS Ultimate Utility Cartridge that I bought from Abbuc some time ago.

I don't expect author to release the rom file, but if he would do that, that would be a fabulous solution.

And indeed. most of these utils do have a built in DOS. It is a rather genius project that cart.

Yes, the cartridge is a true wonder. But the author never sold the cart officially, there were too many copyright issues.

On this cartridge, the Action, BasicXL and MAC65 runs 100% as the original carts?

No. I have only tested Mac/65. It works like a charm, but the switch-on switch-off capability of the original OSS supercart, does not work.
