xDragonWarrior #1 Posted November 11, 2012 Okay so i thought of taking a gamegear apart and putting a Xbox,PS2, etc analog stick on it(i have no modding skills whatsoever).would this be a relatively easy task and could i just put the analog stick over the dpad,(i would have to put the analog stick over the dpad from the inside of the gamegear because from the outside it won't fit)?or would some soldering be required? sega_SHARK #2 Posted November 11, 2012 errr, an analog stick works on an x and y axis. Most d pads are basically just an 8 (or four) button switch. N,S,W,E and the diagonals. You wouldn't gain analog from just putting the stick in. It could be just a comfort issue, in that case I would look at some sort of extension to go over the d pad. xDragonWarrior #3 Posted November 12, 2012 Yeah i just want the analog stick to be on the dpad but still control the game
shadow460 #4 Posted November 12, 2012 One of my Game Gears has a threaded hole in the d pad for a stick. I did the work myself, but lost the stick ages ago. If there were any analog sticks for the Master System, it's possible that a two player game that uses an analog stick could utilize that same stick for player 2 when played via master gear converter. You'd have to hack up a gear to gear cable or solder a 9 pin jack into the Game Gear, though.
