ydcl #1 Posted November 12, 2012 Hi all, I live in Massachusetts, does anyone know where is the best place to find an empty arcade cabinet for cheap? I found a site but it is from Florida and the empty cabinets are very cheap; $40 or so. I wanted to build one, but that would be hard since I suck with tools! I wanted to repaint the cabinet and use my old computer to put it inside. I can get an old monitor and use that also. The only expensive thing I wanted to get for it was one of those x controllers for arcades. I got a nice empty garage to work in! cheers, Yan

Some of these can be good candidates for a refurb and conversion to MAME / JAMMA. Most of the folks selling new, empty cabs are not letting them go for cheap...that is for sure. The wood cost alone is high nowadays. I would say that the best bet is Craigslist...it will take some time, but you should find a good donor with some vigilant hunting. Best of luck! I usually actually find working arcade machines for $250 on eBay; but they're always in Florida, California and other far away states. Here in Massachusetts it is harder to find even empty cabinets. I'll keep looking on craigslist for nearby stuff.

I am in NJ...I will keep an eye peeled for any good deals in my neck of the woods...4 hours isn't too bad if you have a vehicle suitable for picking it up yourself.
