+remowilliams
AFAIK my candle's U1MB should have PBI functionality. Yeah I kind of made an assumption there as to first release U1MB. Both of mine were original Candle first release, so I updated the CPLD, then used that ATR from Lotharek site.
candle
Phil, even if you had first batch u1mb flashing new firmware won't get it bricked just new features won't work But i belive theye were back and forth in Jonathan's place so often, the got upgraded to the latest versions anyways Sebastian
flashjazzcat
Sure it has the v2 JED and ATR mounting worked when it left here. God knows it was tested enough. Same with the Lotharek board, whatever happened to that.
+Philsan
I flashed U1MB with Lotharek's ATR. Now I can select ATR files ("D1, D2, D3..." appears near file names). But when I press RETURN I get the default Atari screen with ready prompt, programs don't start.
candle
ok, type dos and see if there is any reaction or it goes straight into self-test

flashjazzcat
What brand of PLCC do you have in that board? AMD or Amic???
+Philsan
What brand of PLCC do you have in that board? AMD or Amic??? I am getting old and it's not easy to read! :-( The last three letters on the last row are "AMD".
candle
regardless of type of flash chip used, if loader pops in after you press L while in BIOS screen, and you can actually select ATR files to be mounted as Dx: then you're good to go, and it should simply work unless files are corrupted or some other thing that i haven't anticipadet happends can you send the files in subject? +Philsan
I found that SpartaDOS on cart is v. 4.46a, SpartaDOS on U1MB is v. 4.46, but I don't think it's important. I tested many games on ATR disks inside the 1GB CF card (FAT32) but no one works. The same games on the same CF card work in Windows. XEX games inside CF card work with SIDE II loader. flashjazzcat
I've experienced weird behaviour with AMD chips in these things, though not on this machine during testing. My 1200XL boots straight to self test with AMD PLCC.
+Philsan
I've noticed that the same (ready prompt instead of loading program) happens with my AtariMax flash cart.
obiwanken
Hi AtariFriends. I am new SIDE2 and Ultimate1mb user ( and proud). I've created D1,D2 (A,B) drives with FDISK, and now I want copy some programs from .atr images to D1: drive. When I type MATR in DOS the "File not found" error appears ! I used MATR.xex program but with no success. In this video from flashjazzcat you can see what I'm looking for. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdvT_ytcbR4 I think this is what I exactly need. Thanks. flashjazzcat
I used MATR.xex program but with no success. Can you describe the problems you experienced with MATR?

flashjazzcat
Short video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqkO9T7ZIHg&feature=youtu.be Odd. I don't recall the space bar having any function in MATR. Looks like there's a buffered keystroke and the program is immediately opening a sub-folder with no files in it. I recall the SIDE loader possibly left a keycode in the keyboard register... Try running MATR directly from one of your hard disk partitions (i.e. by typing MATR at the SDX prompt), then use Return to open folders / mount ATRs. obiwanken
When I type MATR in my HD partition, the "170 File not found" appears. This is my problem, how to get MATR in my HD !
flashjazzcat
Do you have SIO2SD, SIO2PC, or any ATR device... disk drive? You can put stuff on a serial device and copy it across to your partitions.
obiwanken
No, dont have.
flashjazzcat
OK. Try pressing the "<" key in MATR to go back to the root directory, then Enter to open a different one...
obiwanken
CF reformated with different CF-USB reader. Now i can see the contens of CF. But when I enter to any subfolder i can't go back with < key. Mounting of atr files is now working, I can boot images.

I'm sure there's a bug whereby you can't back up from an empty folder. Anyway - something else to look at.
obiwanken
But there is still a question ! How to copy MATR.xex from .atr to D3 HD drive ? As seen on your video. Must buy SIO2SD ?
flashjazzcat
So you can mount ATRs? Well - put your HDD partition on - say - D3: - and then use the SIDE loader to mount an ATR on D1:. You then need to reboot without turning off the power ("C" in U1MB BIOS Menu?), and SDX should start with you ATR on D1: and HDD partition on D3:. The rest is down to the copy command... obiwanken
I tried it, no success again. My method 1. Turn off Atari. 2. Side2 switcher to upper position. 3. Turn on Atari. Atari boots to SDX. 4. Press Help+Reset. 5. Press L key, 6. Select atr image in Side loader and press Space to mark file as D1. And now next problem, how to get back to U1mb bios ? When I press Help key this action deselect the selected atr file.
