ac.tomo #1 Posted November 16, 2012 Hi, I have a pc, Atari xl/xe, Yamaha keyboard & would like to know if its possible to create music eventually to b put in perhaps an Atari demo. I've put some music In a few demo's, but used TKS soundmonitor, Ive heard that there r better trackers, but 1 good thing I noticed with tks is that it takes but a few scanlines to process within your program/demo I'm hoping to have an Sio2pc soon, but need a software program to create music, preferably through use of the keyboard. Any help would b most appreciated, ps, I do not have the stereo upgrade to my Atari, but if someone can give me any help as to where & how to install it I would b most appreciative. Sikor #2 Posted November 16, 2012 Hmm, If I good remember - Raster Music Tracker can import *.mid files - so, maybe it will be best method for You?

Bunsen #4 Posted November 17, 2012 If you want to connect your keyboard with your Atari you will need a MIDI Interface. Last year Hardwaredoc from ABBUC reengineered an Interface from the eighties called MIDIMate. I am sure he can also help you with Software. http://www.abbuc.de/~hardwaredoc/projekte/hardware/midi/midimate.html
ac.tomo #5 Posted November 18, 2012 (edited) Thanks all for your help, I assume raster music tracker imports .mod files from the pc? .mod files are created through using a keyboard & midi interface with software, am I correct? If so, can anyone guide me as too where a suitable interface & software can be obtained, [email protected] bunsen, I tried your link, but it only shows a couple of diagramatic pictures of a hardware device, no where to obtain information or purchase details. Also, a link to the raster music tracker would be most helpful. Lastly, I don't actually mind if I use my keyboard at all to input music, but would appreciate some helpful information so that I can try it and decide which is the best method for me. Thankyou.
