Flashback 4 at walgreens for $30

Hey everyone

 

I just wanted to give a heads up that walgreens has the flashback 4 on sale for $30 if you have a walgreens points card (free to get). I'm not sure if the deal is for all stores or just some. They also have the genesis by atgames with 80 built in games and the cartridge slot for 30 bux.

That's weird, the I've seen them at Walgreen's for $50.

I picked up three FB4s at Walgreens on Thanksgiving day for $25 each.

Are those repro Genesis' any good?

I tried mine today and I don't recommend it at all. The wireless controllers have to be pointed directly at the console and the audio is also out of tune. I don't understand why it's so difficult to emulate the audio accurately.

Any chance these could be modded to play actual Atari cartridges like some of the earlier Flashbacks? Having a console that could play original Atari games with decent wireless controls for $30 would be pretty wicked cool.

^^ Pretty sure that's only the 2 and 2+. Those are real VCSs, so to speak. The others are all NESs on a chip.

Yep. This is why the only Flashback I have is number 2. I found a FB1 at a thrift store for $1.95 and that's about what that one is worth. I passed on 3 and I'll pass on 4 because of the emulation. No thanks.

I have one of these and it's not the best. Sound emulation is off which games sound a bit creepy, and the unit won't write any saves for battery-backed games.

how do you know what flashback you have? I have one i'd let go for $12 plus shipping or trade...

nvmd, lol see it on the console ...can you tell i never used it?
