Atarimax; 128 in 1 USB Question

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased the 128 in 1 Cartridge from someone here on AA, but the person lost the proper USB cable.

I have been around to Best Buy and Radio Shack, but no one seems to have the proper USB cable.

I guess I need a male to male USB? I seem them on Amazon, anywhere from .10 to $4.00. But, I see that on some of the comments, that they recommend the blobby circuit thing in the middle, so that it does not fry either device. Some of the male to male USB's don't come with the thing in the middle.

Which is the proper USB cable that I want?

The one I received from Atarimax did not have the "blobby" thing you described. Hope that helps some ;)

No need to get so technical! ;) I just ordered the basic straight one without the circuit thing in the middle. Thanks.

I believe that is just a choke to prevent interference and I doubt it is needed.

So..I bought what jblenkle said to buy, but now I have another problem.

I don't think there are any drivers for 32 bit Vista. I saw the 64 bit drivers, but no 32. I keep getting error messages.

I wrote to Steve at Atarimax, but no response yet.

Anyone else running the 128-1 on 32 bit Vista?

I think anyone still running Vista killed themselves a long time ago ;)

A search on the internet has not helped I guess. I usually can find anything I want when searching.

Pretty sure that the drivers are 32-bit variety, but best to double check the AtariMax website for further information.

I'm still running Vista on my main system and haven't had any problems with it in well over four years... but then again I don't push the limits of my system or O.S. like I did in years past so I'll probably never experience the issues that many have come to dread with Vista.

Yea. I checked the Atarimax site, and searched the forums, but their were no Vista 32 driver topics.

The drivers available for Vista are labeled 64 bit, so I imagine they will not work with the 32 bit Vista O.S.

And for home use, Vista has been OK. I run about 6 emulators on Vista, no problem.

I've had more trouble with Windows 7 at work.
