SUB HUNT Intv, question for homebrew programmers

Recommended Posts

just a question to homebrews producers

Are you considering a game like that with improuved graphics for Colecovision ?

and what about games like Armour Battle (single player) or Utopia (single player) ?

Love them but don't like the disc controllers.

And what about RESCUE ON FRACTALUS Lucasfilm ( very good the Atari XL version ) ?

thanks for reply and apologize if, may be, some questions already posed in the past...

Look at my web site (see signature below), and you'll see Utopia is on my to-do list. I have no idea when I'll get around to actually programing it though...

EDIT: I think the CV needs a good versus-battle tank game, so I'd like to see a version of Combat or Armor Battle on the CV. Personally, I would take it one step further by letting the tanks transform into robots. :D

As for Sub Hunt, I think I prefer Sub Roc on the CV...

Fractal terrain rendering on the ColecoVision? Not likely...

Actually if you are going to start talking about intellivision games Lock 'n chase is now ported to CV and it is awesome. The other game that I used to play a lot besides Lock 'n chase and Utopia was Advanced Dungeons and Dragons.

I always thought that was a lot of fun going through the tunnel and hearing that damn dragon sound that scared the hell out of me as a little kid.

I remember sub hunt and never really feeling like playing it. I agree with Pixelboy that sub roc is much better and we already have it.

The only other games I can remember playing a lot was He-Man(exists but will probably never be released for CV), BurgerTime(already exists), and Bump 'n jump (already exists).

Nah, I think I have an obsession with Night Stalkers

Someday, I will make this one!

I had to look it up to remember it. I remember it being too easy!

Then let's make the CV version difficult! :D

I'd be all for that.

If I wasn't as lazy as I am I would start to look at how to program these games and start to make them. ;)

I do remember hating assembly in school for the week we learned it.

So maybe I will wait for the Basic compiler version of programming.

BUT Sub Roc is pure action, SUB HUNT have strategic side !

Utopia needs to be 2 players. My friend had this game on some computer that that rubber buttons for a keyboard. I don't remember the name of that system, but Utopia was great.

Mattel Aquarius?

That's it. Man you know this stuff cold. Now did it have little overlays or something? Like press this button for ship or castle, not sure of on the console or the controller. its been many many years

I would assume that there was an overlay for this game seeing as most (if not all) Intellivision games were supplied with overlays and if memory serves me right, the Mattel Aquarius used the same controllers as the Intellivision systems. I never owned any of these mentioned systems, just going from memory.

Utopia needs to be 2 players.

If someone does Combat or Armour Battle, please do it in single player variant as well. No way to enjoy Combat because no one to play against. :(

A valid request, but you do realize how difficult it is to create a good opponent AI for this kind of game, right? Make the AI too simplistic, and the single-player game becomes predictable and boring. And the more complex you make the AI, the more you risk having buggy enemy behavior. Doing it just right is a lot of work.

As for Sub Hunt, in terms of strategy-based gaming, I would prefer to convert Sea Battle (the Intelliviison game) as it would make good use of the CV controller's keypad.

Actually Diner is the He-Man: Masters of the Universe sequel, but for reasons discussed numerous times before, it never made it out as He-Man II and was then released around 1987 as Diner by Intv Corp.

There's been past threads talking about these He-Man games and there is some info on the Blue Sky Ranger's website. Follow the link and then scroll down to Masters of the Universe II.

As far as your questions about meatballs, hot dogs, etc., I have no concrete answer for you, but thinking about it has certainly made me hungry!
