Awww man, I'm not going to be in Melbourne soon (I was the other week though). I'd have checked it out, although I often pop by ACMI when I'm there :) I'm confused though, your location said Oregon and that ACMI exhibition was few years back.

I did a presentation about game preservation last year at PAX Australia with a few of the people from ACMI :D

Their exhibit travels. It is currently at http://www.omsi.edu/

Received #280 this week and got to play it for a bit last night. Good port of a gem, thanks!

Ok, so first run 200 games a couple of years ago, and now this run on around 300 games making around 500 games in total, for a popular game sold over several years with two hypes.

Since seeing the few games flourish on the market the game could be pushed with 100 more to a total of 600 games, in a third run later, that either would feed future collectors/herders right away, or be part of more of them flourishing on the market as a sign of a fed market.

What I make out of this there is around 400 to 500 active Jag cart collectors/buyers connected -- not all forum posters, but also lurkers -- to this forum (where the games was sold through), and maybe when guessing 200 more coming and going buying sparsely within a span of lets say four years.

Just for the fun of it, a list of quantities of "today's buyers pressure" of Jag carts sold over a couple of years:

-Late released popular title as Another world ~ 500 to 600 copies

-A more obscure game like Air Cars KA 100 + 100 copies

-And somewhere between games of normal popularity: 250 to 300 games sold over several years.

It's hard to count on things of this matter, of course, but in a way I see it somewhat possible due to this titles amount of carts sold.

And money up front is always a problem and the high stake of any investments. This is just the fun of tossing the thought around. Please do disagree.

All good things must come to an end. 'Tis the way of the world I'm told and have experienced. Glad I snagged a copy when I could! Great effort by all involved and an extremely compelling title that adds value to Jag's library. /understatement… It's one of the best games ever released for the system!

The Retro-Gaming Connexion (RGC) association is proud to announce the upcoming release of the game Another World on cartridge for the Atari Jaguar console. The iconic game, released in the early 90s, has been adapted by Sebastien Briais of the group Removers of Jagware with the blessing of the original developer, Eric Chahi.

The RGC is producing the game in the truest spirit of the original Jaguar releases, in cartridge form with a box and manual. In order to fund the project through the various stages of manufacture the game is being offered by pre-order. Release of the game is currently slated for Spring 2013. Each person who reserves a copy will receive a numbered confirmation slip by e-mail. The price for Another World is 62 Euros by PayPal, and you can pre-order a copy here.

Here's a video of gameplay on the Jaguar:

Absolutely gutted beyond believe I missed this!!

Didn't have a clue this came to the Jaguar, on my Amiga 600 as a kid I was totally absorbed by it,

How come, have you been away from the Jaguar for a long time?

I don't know how long, but topics and/or talk about this game have been on AA for quite some time.

I almost paid €200 for it the other day... I can't believe I missed that either. Bad things happen to good people sometimes. Twice even :)

How come they didn't want to do another run, seems plenty of demand you'd think they would want to rinse every penny out of it.

Might even be the case, if had they kept a couple copies for aftersales :) Seriously though I contacted the guys after I realised it was all over, and they had no interest in even talking about it much. I begged for a rom or even beta, but they wouldnt budge...
