Anyone want to work on a horror game? (artist here)

Hey guys,

 

It's been ages since I posted. I used to hawk 2600 ideas here, and worked on the FADE OUT project briefly with Christopher Tumber:

I won't be so bold as to suggest a game design, but I wanted to see if any talented programmer had any interest in working on a 2600 horror title? I'm a big horror games fan (at my day job with WayForward, I directed LIT, Aliens, and Silent Hill: Book of Memories). I'm interested in working on a 2600 game with a focus on subtle/creepy horror (ala Haunted House) rather than excess gore. Although I suppose it could have both, so long as it's not JUST relying on gore.

 

If you'd like to do somethig creepy, and you're a capable programmer, then I'm happy to supply all art and help with the design/ideas. Anyone interested?

Are we talking about an original title? One important thing I've seen from others that have suggested horror games is that they forget Hollywood studios REALLY love their brands.

Too bad it's not being developed for the 5200. That system is sorely in need of new and innovative games.

UPDATE: I'd highly recommend Rabbit 2600. He's got a good attitude. Very easy going. Very eager to create.

I could think of doing something like Slender. In a personal view like Tunnel Runner you are searching for the letters and avoid being spotted by the Slenderman. But since the game lives for his creepy atmosphere created by the effects it would be maybe very hard to realize this on the Atari 2600. But maybe its also doable on the Atari 7800?
