Prince of Persia won't run on my ST

I have a copy of Prince of Persia for my Atari 1040STfm, and it won't play. After I load the game, I notice some of the intro music is missing, but that's probably since I don't use a stereo TV. And when the game starts, I can't move at all whether I use the keyboard or not. All that happens is a smacking noise when I hit the S key. Can somebody help me out here?

Except for some reason my ST crashes and shows 2-4 bombs after about 20 minutes of game play. Last time it crashed, it didn't even show bombs. It froze and the screen turned black. Could there be a problem with my disk?

Are you able to make disks?

It can be everything. For instance age of your machine.

After 20 + years, we can expect more and more problems with reliability.

 

Part of intro music may miss if you have only 512KB RAM - full sound requires 1MB. Of course, it may be because crack.

I bought the 1040STfm new from B&C Computervisions, but it appears to be an upgraded 520STfm. And the copy of Prince of Persia I have is a legitimate copy.
