Best4bond #1 Posted December 30, 2012 Hey, I've seen lots of vectrex repair questions and answers here, My vectrex I recently digged out of the garage has no in game sound and has a white dot right in the middle of the screen. I know nothing when it comes to electronics, The most I've done is open up a NES and tighten the pins, I'm wondering if there's a easy fix for someone like me or if someone can guide me threw it? ilovethevectrex #3 Posted December 30, 2012 vectrex's can be hard to fix due to their complicated curcitry, but there is probably a step by step instruction on the internet of how to fix it

Game-Tech.US #6 Posted December 30, 2012 Hey, I've seen lots of vectrex repair questions and answers here, My vectrex I recently digged out of the garage has no in game sound and has a white dot right in the middle of the screen. I know nothing when it comes to electronics, The most I've done is open up a NES and tighten the pins, I'm wondering if there's a easy fix for someone like me or if someone can guide me threw it? I had the exact same thing happen to mine, turned out to be easy, it had fried bug guts in the power connector between the boards and the logic board was not getting +5V. If you're not interested in doing it yourself i'd love to dig in to it and make some Vec repair vids. PM if interested.

Best4bond #9 Posted December 30, 2012 The screws in my Vectrex seem to be stuck, I've tried WD 40 but no success. I guess I have to drill the screw out?
Game-Tech.US #10 Posted December 30, 2012 The screws in my Vectrex seem to be stuck, I've tried WD 40 but no success. I guess I have to drill the screw out? Don't do that! They may be difficult, but its just plastic, get a bigger handled screwdriver. Also, try tightening them a crack then try to loosen...
Best4bond #11 Posted December 31, 2012 (edited) Tried all that, They feel like they are just not going to budge. I've been able to only get one screw out, So I know it's the right screwdriver. Edited December 31, 2012 by Best4bond
+boxpressed #12 Posted December 31, 2012 Be careful ... the posts that the screws go into are just plastic and can break off if you apply too much pressure. That happened to me when opening a Vectrex.
