I don't see the difference in wall thickness. Roundness of the lower front corners is definitely noticeable, but the thickness of the black lower shell wall looks about the same between my pics and those of PitfallHarry2600's.

The thickness and rounded corners vs. sharp corner things tend to confuse people who don't know what they're looking at.

 

I'd say an easier way to tell is that the sides of the Heavy Sixer are more or less horizontal and very different from other Atari systems. If the bottom half of the case is shaped the same as a 4-switch (thinner plastic, sides protrude at an angle), then it's a Light Sixer.

 

The console should feel substantially weightier than other 2600s as well, and sturdier.

It's funny....I've been around this site for so long that I could easily tell from just quickly glancing at the picture! Listing to the "professionals" around here (and you know who you are) has given me incredible insight to the Atari 2600 system. :D
