Aidy #1 Posted January 2, 2013 Anyone fancy helping me out with a simple game or possibly just re-branding an existing one? I'm in a band themed around the aesthetic of retro computing and we've got a little stand at an upcoming retro event this summer in the UK. Was thinking it'd be cool to have a band branded Atari game. Happy to trade favours, help promote stuff on the stand etc.. :-) www.theBritishIBM.com
+GroovyBee #2 Posted January 2, 2013 The Atari 400/800/600XL/800XL/XEGS/etc. computers and the 2600, 7800, Jaguar and Lynx consoles were all released in the UK. So you need to pick a machine for the game to run on. You might also want to provide some more information about your game idea too.
Aidy #3 Posted January 2, 2013 Atari 2600. Open to suggestions on the actual game. Even if someone has something existing that could be tweaked.
+GroovyBee #4 Posted January 2, 2013 Open to suggestions on the actual game. Even if someone has something existing that could be tweaked. A style of game would be a good starting point. If nobody comes up with something you can have a go at programming it yourself in batari Basic.
Aidy #5 Posted January 2, 2013 I'm actually doing that at the moment :-) Grabbed a few random bits of code and currently hacking away but I'm not much if a coder. Was possibly thinking of a little man trying to get to a gig. Then when he gets there the game plays out again slightly quicker each time. A bit like Dragonfire. Gateway #6 Posted January 5, 2013 If nothing else works out, you could make a Hack of Journey Escape. The theme of the game is to move each band member safely away after the concert while avoiding groupies, photographers, etc. You could hack Steve Perry et al into members of your band. Also check out the Hacks forum for the 2600 to see if anybody there has already become familiar with modifying the code for the Journey game. http://www.atariage....wareLabelID=252 Good luck!
