high voltage #5 Posted January 11, 2013 Rally Speedway, a A8 original, but I guess the reviewer had no knowledge of this.
TMR #6 Posted January 11, 2013 the C64 minded fanboy? Yeah, i wouldn't trust him as far as i could throw him! i bet he's secretly a Spectrum fanboy. Rally Speedway, a A8 original, but I guess the reviewer had no knowledge of this. i'm sure Stu's aware that Rally Speedway originated on the A8 but he's talking about playing the C64 version as a kid in that Retro Revival. If a proper Making Of is ever done (which needs input from the original author so that may simply not be possible, one of the freelancers might have a contact) then the lineage'll be covered in detail. Heaven/TQA #7 Posted January 11, 2013 RG has become far more acurate in terms of A8 to be honest... and that's cool even it is an UK/European mag

Mclaneinc #9 Posted January 11, 2013 (edited) Has any one read or looked at the Atari Book thing they have just brought out? For health reasons I don't get out a lot (ie hardly ever) and 10 quid is a lot of cash for a magazine, is it just reprints of their earlier stuff or is there more to it? Can't remember the last time I purchased a magazine, they got so damned expensive and 80% adverts.. I'm lucky that my mate buys Retro Gamer so I borrow a set of them and digest and give em back.. JohnBuell #13 Posted January 11, 2013 I have a copy. Haven't read it cover to cover, but I posted on Facebook that I wouldn't pay extra to get it shipped had I known. I would have waited for it to show up in bookshops on this side of the Atlantic.

high voltage #16 Posted January 11, 2013 The Atari bookazine is great, mainly it is Atari stuff from previous RG articles, but I believe also some other material.
snicklin #17 Posted January 11, 2013 I've ordered mine today.
+Philsan #18 Posted January 11, 2013 The Atari Book is a very interesting read, especially if you don't have the original Retro Games magazines or you like to have Atari articles on a single book.
Heaven/TQA #19 Posted January 12, 2013 the Atari articles were a great read in RG so assume that the book is good quality. Kudos to imagine to publish the book. in UK but I love the 2600 cover anyway... it seems I am still magical attracted to low-rez pixels and the damned Atari Fuji sign plus 2600...
