I found a weird Gold Sega Genesis?

Found a gold? Genesis model 2 tonight. Anyone know anything about it?

Upon closer inspection, it's painted. Look at the bottom left. The paint's been chipped, showing the stock black plastic underneath. Hope you didn't buy it...

Looks like you lucked out. Thanks to your high resolution picture, I was able to see that scratch. Do you see it?

Yeah there are a lot of signs it was painted actually. Definitely not worth the labelled price!

There's nubs in the texture of the gold paint, flaws that often appear when someone doesn't properly clean the surface before spray painting. Dust, hair, bodily fluids, all sorts of things cause those paint pills.

As has been said, a fairly amateurish paint job at that. I am not against paint modding of classic consoles, just do it professionally please.

We all have to learn on something. Odds are it was a home project meant for practice and got traded.

I've seen some creatively painted Genny 2's over the years including zebra stripes, psychadelic patterns, and an X-rated one (use your imagination on that one!).

I think legit case mods started with the Dreamcast, right? I had a kit that replaced the top portion with translucent blue.

Might be painted but even if it was factory it didn't start out gold. The plastic could of been black to begin with and painted gold.
