I'm assuming it didn't sell. You can list it for *Dr. Evil voice* one billion dollars, but it ain't gonna bring it. I'm more interested in actual transaction prices.

you should seek medical attention if you pay 1.7 million for any game. Unless it comes with a house and a car. And some hookers.

Kotaku is so full of shit. Seller is clearly a 'bloater'. Anyone trying to sell Condor Attack for almost $500 is insane. I hate when sellers list stuff for what they think they can get out of it and suddenly everyone thinks that's what it's worth.

Nothing like a BS press release, from a BS seller, which gets picked up by a media outlet that doesn't care much about researching what they post. All Kotaku would have had to do was look at past auctions for Atlantis II...I'm not even in the market for one of these carts, and I know it is worth FAR less than 1.7 mil.

I thought the article was saying he bought it for 1.7million.

:?

Go back and read the article again...nowhere does it say that the game was actually sold, only that it was listed on eBay.

Actually, I was mistaken earlier about the seller...apparently that auction was listed by an original contestant, not by homerwannabee (who also listed one for an extravagant price right around the same time). I don't remember exactly who "kingmeanguns" was but the auction did not sell, regardless. I don't know if he ended up selling that copy or not. Do a search on the forums here and I'm sure there were some discussions about it at the time.

No one knows the true number of A2s made (and even distributed is speculative as well), or if anyone did (like an Imagic employee in charge of the contest), that info has never been disclosed. Yes, it is a rare cart, and very interesting in gaming history.

Anyhow, that article is from 2006 and is a bit dated by this time to boot.

Sorry I didn't see a date. But still 1.7 million is a lot to ask even 10 years ago. Anyhow there was a sealed (I believe night time scene) atlantis box and everything for 15 on ebay. But still a waste of 15 as there is no way to prove it is a 2. The label on the wrapper could of just been taken off.
