Xevious coinop- entering initials- 3 or 8 letter setting?

I swear seeing in the past being able to use at least 8 letters when entering a high score. Mine is set to 3 but I dont know how to change it. I'd like my kids to enter their full 1st name in rather than just their initials.

Sorry man...don't see anything in the DIP switch settings for initials.

There's a difference between Namco & Atari ROM versions.

 

Atari has 3 letters, Namco 8.
