benjam138 #1 Posted February 13, 2003 I saw an Ebay listing for a Game Genie Super Famicom converter. If I was to get a Game Genie, is there any special modifications I need to do, or just plug the game in and play? Any help is much appreciated.
Xot #2 Posted February 13, 2003 Just like a regular SNES deck, Famicom carts won't fit properly into a Game Genie without the carts being modified. However, mySNES GG (don't know about any others) uses standard screws, so you can remove the plastic case, put the Famicom cart on the top and insert the bare GG board into the SNES. I've done this on a few occasions.
chrisbid #3 Posted February 13, 2003 all you need to do is break the two tabs in the cart slot of the game genie and youll be set. You can also do the same on the console, but its much more difficult to break those than the tabs on the game genie
MattyXB #4 Posted February 13, 2003 I own a NTSC console too, and have break these 2 tabs inside the console. Then you can play all NTSC and Japanese games. Only for PAL games you need an Adapter, or a PAL console.
