sandmountainslim #1 Posted February 11, 2013 Now that near everyone carries a gaming device in their pocket everyday it has brought the casual gamers back into the videogame fold to a large degree and on top of that TONS of developers are making games and putting them out there daily just like in the Golden Age of Videogames. Many of the games are total crap but some are VERY good and once again people are choosing gameplay over graphics just like we Atari fans have been screaming for them to do for so many years. TONS of crap games but that is to be expected and I have played many and taken them right off of my device asap. Some of my favorites for Android to play at this time are. Aurora Missile Mac The Man Frogger PacSnake Lep's World You can't go wrong with any of these and I understand the selection in IPhone is as good if not even better. Im one happy gamer. racerx #2 Posted February 12, 2013 I'd be completely on board with you, but I simply cannot abide touch controls.

Guyra #7 Posted February 12, 2013 Can't wait for the Ouya to arrive, so we'll get that market to the TV!
Reaperman #8 Posted February 12, 2013 (edited) I'd say "enjoy your freaking cell phones" but obviously that's the point of the thread--so, um..."enjoy your freaking cell phones anyway" My cell provider doesn't support smart phones, so I'll just keep waiting and carrying around a GBA. Have an Ouya on order, but I'm currently deciding how mad I am at them right now. 80% or so? Edited February 12, 2013 by Reaperman
cimerians #9 Posted February 12, 2013 (edited) Ok since this is a cell phone thread I'll mention that I have an HTC Windows phone. I got a bunch of free games on there and a few of them are pretty good. I also cant stand touch screen "joystick" controls...where you move your guy around using a simulated gamepad and your thumb. Can't stand it but I have to admit the games are well done. A few that stand out for me are: Dragons Blade Call of Carlos Dredd vs. Zombies Haunted Breakout Blade, Dredd and Haunted would be excellent on the Ouya but I don't know if they are on the Android marketplace. Guyra #10 Posted February 12, 2013 (edited) Have an Ouya on order, but I'm currently deciding how mad I am at them right now. 80% or so? How come? The "new one every year" thing? Edited February 12, 2013 by Guyra
Reaperman #11 Posted February 12, 2013 How come? The "new one every year" thing? Yeah, trying to "make a console" and then sticking the worst part of the cell phone business model to their platform.
Guyra #12 Posted February 13, 2013 Yeah, can't say I'm very happy about that, either. But I'll still be interested to see how things'll actually end up.
toptenmaterial #13 Posted February 13, 2013 Off-topic: what's the issue with Ouya that you guys are upset about?
Guyra #14 Posted February 13, 2013 (edited) They are basically going to release a new Ouya every year. Which means games will be developed for the newest Ouya, which again means that there will be games that aren't supported by the Ouya you bought last year, so then you need to buy a new one if you want to play the newest games. I don't mind a new one every two or three years, but every single year is a bit excessive, in my opinion. But that's about the only problem I have with the thing - otherwise, I'm all for it!
