Come check out MMSBC II for Fun & Feedback!

Recommended Posts

Pretty much done with a second MMSBC game: MMSBC II!

Was looking for feedback - good or bad. Plus, hey! new homebrew to play!

This is strictly a two player co-op game!

You can set one of three difficulty levels. Reset button works. Press fire to launch a photon torpedo. If either ship takes too many hits to their shields they will get grounded for refueling. When grounded the cities moral goes down (topmost bar). If ALL the cities moral is gone then it's game over. Periodically a boss will appear to harass you. If you defeat it another faster, deadlier round ensues!

My personal best score is 2891.

Figured I'd give this a bump as it is now DONE. Due date is mid February and we're pretty much there. Please enjoy this game and comment! :)

I'm changing the color every other frame on the playfield and sprites. Since I'm time-sharing the ball between players each laser gets its own unique color. The red and blue tones combine to make the buildings and top status bar look grey. bB can only do single color pfscore bars (player ship shield bars to the bottom left and right). I alternate which score bar is displayed every other frame to make it appear to have two separate colors. The little moving car (pixel just below cityscape) is just fast enough to leave a ghost image in a different shade than the buildings. When you use both varied heights and colors for the playfield in bB it is set in stone for that game. A known "bug" is that you can still alter the color of the first playfield row. I flash random colors on that first row to emphasize being hit by the enemy. The player ships are actually missiles that change shape and color every other frame. When they overlap yet more colors are produced. The boss has a fireball shot that staggers its y coordinate between frames. As the sprite is alternatiing colors it appears like two bluish and two reddish fireballs.

Hey theloon! :)

I tried to download your game from the OP and it giving me an error screen, saying it can't find it?

Anyway, I downloaded it from your thread in the bB forum. However, I won't be able to give you feedback until later as I will be reformatting my hard drives this weekend and I have already transferred my files of Stella to another disk for now. I will be sure to post some feedback when I have the new drive up and running correctly. Good luck with the Louisville show! 8)
