0078265317 #5 Posted February 20, 2013 I didn't make this I just found the link interesting. Apparently hes moved on to other projects. But try contacting him and see what he says.
BydoEmpire #6 Posted February 20, 2013 Very cool - I love the walk-through of how it was made.
Rex Dart #7 Posted February 20, 2013 These are always neat, but I do always feel bad that a PS1 LCD was trashed for 'em...
fiddlepaddle #8 Posted February 20, 2013 (edited) Nice. The How-to was very good: direct, clear and instructive. I didn't realize how simple it would be to make a custom case (albeit labor intensive for the mold). I bet he could make more cases now very easily, maybe even sell them to people here. Then all you would need would be a N64, controller, and those batteries, or something compatible for a complete "kit".Edit: ...and a screen. godslabrat #10 Posted February 20, 2013 Very resourceful, but I have to think giving up the L button and d-pad will come back to bite him at some point.
0078265317 #11 Posted February 20, 2013 Both "L and R" are present. Its hard to see but its there. As for the dpad all games worked with either right?? Or were there any games that worked with only the dpad?? And compared to other portable n64 clones this version has 4 ports in front so you can always use an external controller. godslabrat #12 Posted February 20, 2013 I thought he said something about nixing the L-Button and mapping the Z-button to it.
0078265317 #13 Posted February 21, 2013 Sorry I missed that. Its physically there but no good. But still with 4 ports you can have the l back with aonther controller.
fiddlepaddle #14 Posted February 21, 2013 Why don't you contact him and see. Oh, I probably wouldn't do this project, I was just fantasizing...
Tr3vor #15 Posted February 22, 2013 L337 64? oh no.... Its cool, but I'm not a fan of portable consoles with that cheapo SOC hardware.
