New homebrew called "Rocketeer"

Saw this post and went from page 1 to the last page.....avoiding the saga in between.

My initial thought after watching the video "Damn, back in the day when i was a kid i would have paid TOP dollar for this game. It rivals the BEST games ever programmed for intellivision. It has an Activision/Imagic quality to it...which is to give it the highest accolades"

Then to the last page...it seemed there was a lot of drama but the programmer seems to have come through. Hip Hip Hurray for Humanity!

All this to say...i'm super duper old school. I played this intellivision stuff as it was launched and put on the shelves and NEVER ONCE considered a homebrew....but THIS one.....well, it grabbed my attention hard!

It seemed to be a blend of Robotron and Joust...which are two of my all time favorite games.

Speaking of which...is there a Robotron homebrew or something like it?

D

No robo tron homebrew for the intellivision. It's a great arcade game.....can't imagine how it would work good on the intellivision though.

Hmmm.....a controller holder for both sticks and enjoy-a-stick installed on both controllers? That would actually work good for cloudy mountain too....always loved it but the keypad adds a lot of difficulty to the game.

:lolblue: Man, you gotta laugh at the bullshit posted by the trolling fucktards in my threads. Now down to the business at hand.

Firstly, I'd like to publicly apologise to those people who asked me for pre-order refunds and didn't get a timely response. Work and life have kept me away from AA for far too long. As a priority those people have all been sent PMs today and will be dealt with ASAP.

Secondly, to paraphrase Whose Line Is It Anyway: "Free refunds for all!” I'll be contacting everybody else who pre-ordered Rocketeer or Mars Minis and giving them a full refund too. Please wait until you are contacted by me in PM, so I can keep track. “Why am I doing this?”, I hear you ask. Looking at my upcoming schedule (and other factors), I don't currently have the time to run a comprehensive test programme, fix any lurking and hard to find bugs or build/test/ship the remaining carts. So it seems like a good time to draw a line under this long running saga. Plus the last year has hammered home that it doesn’t matter how optimistic you are about getting things done, life always finds a way to kick you in the nuts.

Hello, hey wait.....you said the remaining carts.

Did you ship some out to certain people and are about 250 people left hanging and waiting for them?

Just checking in, this is not an unfair or bullshit post. Just asking a fair question.

I am glad you are ok,I get that life certainly does get in the way of hobbies and other things.

Best,be well. Wolfy 62 :)

Just wanted to say that GB contacted me and graciously refunded my preorder payment no problem. I understand all to well life kicking you in the nuts as that’s been my life for the better part of 5 years now. Glad he’s ok and hopefully these get released sometime in future and I will be supporting them like I do all Homebrew games. Thanks again for the refund and Happy New Year - hopefully a better one for many of us!

I get that part, but none of you folks are fucktards,I just gotta say it.

Nobody in here deserves that treatment, we just like to buy and play games.

Sorry Groovy for your bad year, maybe coming in and saying I had a bad year, my bad or I took on too much too soon that I can't fulfill, great answers.

I do know for a fact that word you used for the people in here, I have never used on anyone.

It is amazing you call the people here trolling fucktards, man it must be great to be King of the world!

Well, you did yourself say:

the people here trolling.

I dont exactly know who is referenced as a fucktard, but if someone is here trolling, then he apparently equates that to the art of fucktardery.

Yes, my nuts hurt. Um, aside from that, I'm glad you're ok.

Careful Careful.....some here might start printing up T-shirts that say "Proud Intellivision Fucktard" (ala Deplorable T-shirts).

I for one can think of only one insult lower than Fucktard..and thats calling someone "Yar's Revenge"! (Yeah, i am an Intelly-Snob who was surrounded in my youth by 2600 owners)

I kid...i kid......i think....

With only eight sprites on Intellivision, a Robotron conversion would be tough. With some clever programming, using background animation for objects, a Robotron inspired shootemup could be made. Dual discs would work great for a Robotron inspired Intellivision game. No controller buttons are used so just hold one controller in each hand. I think programming the disc upsidedown as an option would make the controllers easier to hold one handed. If you're looking for a dual disc shooter for Intellivision look no further than Microsurgeon. Edited by mr_me

Hey, would the Nurmix dual action controller make a Robotron type game possible on the Intellivision?
