SS #2 Posted February 15, 2003 Well that was … unexpected … I thought for sure that they would be knocking the 2600 RotLA. What’s up with slagging on Kool-Aid Man? Totally uncalled for; that was a solid game.
MegaManFan #3 Posted February 15, 2003 This is what's really uncalled for: This article is part of the IGN Insider subscription service. If you want to read the rest, subscribe now.
Albert #4 Posted February 15, 2003 Yeah, I won't be reading the rest of that article either! ..Al

chrisbid #6 Posted February 15, 2003 the article will be available to non-insiders once the game is released next week besides, the x-box and IGN in general is geared toward 14 year olds, any mention of the 2600 at all is a pleasant surprise
Happy_Dude #7 Posted February 15, 2003 Sure Jedi Outcast is a good example of the genre, but there are literaly billions of games that are exactly the same. I'd rather play Kool-Aid Man
chrisbid #8 Posted February 15, 2003 the writer shouldve used ET instead
Godzilla #9 Posted February 17, 2003 my official xbox magazine reviewed indiana jones, and mentioned 2600 raiders in a VERY positive light, even had a screen shot! they said it was a breakthrough game that helped start console rpgs. :-)

Man.. EVERY 2600 freak should have at least finished ROTL at least once in their life. You're missing out dude!
MegaManFan #12 Posted February 17, 2003 Man.. EVERY 2600 freak should have at least finished ROTL at least once in their life. You're missing out dude! I just find the game completely incomprehensible. Seriously. And when somebody tells me it's an RPG, that makes it worse. My first reaction to that is to go over to the SNES and pop in Zelda: A Link to the Past, or to the PS1 and pop in Final Fantasy VII, or to the C-128 (if I ever find room to hook it up) and fire up Phantasia. Ahh, now THAT'S role-playing. Tell me how to get past the opening screen and I +might+ give it another shot though. I realize I sound like King Dork asking that, but all kidding aside I see the graphic moving, I wiggle the joystick and hit the fire button a bunch of times, nothing. I reset the game, nothing. What's the deal?

What's the deal? Dude, you have to use Joystick #2 to start (you use 2 joysticks throughout the game) What this leads me to believe is: the game's incomprehensible to you because you obviously haven't READ THE MANUAL! And also just to note, the manual pretty much has a walkthrough for the game (with just enough hints) and is how the majority of us have been able to beat it. It probably would've been impossible otherwise for myself I know that for a fact.

MegaManFan #16 Posted February 17, 2003 Dude, you have to use Joystick #2 to start (you use 2 joysticks throughout the game) No kidding? It's really that simple? Criminey, I really am King Dork! Atari needs a "dunce cap" emoticon I can put on my head. What this leads me to believe is: the game's incomprehensible to you because you obviously haven't READ THE MANUAL! Since I didn't have one until last week, no. And it didn't occur to me to do anything other than file it away, since (you're going to laugh) I never play the game since I couldn't figure it out! Somebody find the 2x4 and smack me upside the head, PLEASE. And also just to note, the manual pretty much has a walkthrough for the game (with just enough hints) and is how the majority of us have been able to beat it. It probably would've been impossible otherwise for myself I know that for a fact. Knowing that, I'll definitely give this game a second chance.
