Games that should have been made for Intellivision

Recommended Posts

Some games that were on other consoles that I wish were made/released on the Intellivision are:

Jungle Hunt

Ms Pacman

Time Pilot

Frogger II Three deep

Galaga/Galaxian

Steamroller

I know I could dig out my colecovision and play most of these games but it would have been great to see them on the Intelly as well.

I've always wondered if a really basic version of the arcade game 720 would work with the Inty disc, my guess is no. Plus I'm thinking there is not enough hardware to support the maps.

I always miss a game like Pong, but this gap will be closed by Paddle Party

On the other side I really wanna have a game like North & South on the Intellivision, its just an amazing game and it would rock the Intellivision

For me, it's mostly about sequels. I wish they'd made better sequels to Tron Deadly Discs and AD&D Cloudy Mountain. And a sequel to Utopia.

Maybe a sequel to Night Stalker that had all the functionality originally planned for it.

Dunno if it'd be practical on the Inty, but a port of Galaga would have been great to have back in the day.

I would have like to have seen how Joust would have translated into Intelly.

As much as I love Joust, playing that with the Intelli firebuttons... I would have to pass :)

True! It would have to have auto-flapping.

if you would have asked me 6 months ago I would have said Choplifter... (technically I guess it was partially made but never released... until last year)

I would go with Pitfall II & Joust

The Joust wing flapping motion could be accomplished via keypad presses instead of the side fire buttons. Problem solved.

Bomb Jack. Fantastic game. Unfortunately the action buttons of the INTV controller may not be appropriate as they need to be used repeatedly. Perhaps the numeric keyboard buttons could make the job. Same idea as in the Joust game.

Hey Sqoon we were thinking about the same issue with Joust / Bomb Jack almost at the same time. What a coincidence! Joust / Bomb Jack one-button type of control is one of the coolest things ever :)

I have the source code to Steamroller for anyone who would like to port it.

I think Berzerk should have been done on the Intellivision....especially with Intellivoice support!

Other games that would work well....

Jupiter Lander (Vic-20)

Caverns of Mars (Atari 400/800)

Wizards of Wor (Bally Astrocade)

Wizard of Wor was announced by Coleco in their catalogs and I waited and waited... :_(

Sea Quest! I want Sea Quest for the Intellivision! Why should that stinky VCS get it and not the Intellivision?
