LidLikesIntellivision #76 Posted May 18, 2013 I would like to see Gun.Smoke. The intellivision could have used a western themed game besides Happy Trails. I love Gun Smoke. It was the game that came with my nes clone! I played it a lot.
JasonlikesINTV #77 Posted May 18, 2013 Whack-a-mole. This would involve extensive use of the key pad and need a pretty awesome overlay. Think about it........I know, right!?
Tales from the Game Room #78 Posted May 18, 2013 The Intellivision definitely needs more racing games. Auto Racing was okay and Pole Position was crap, but that was about it [Triple Action doesn't count]. When INTV Corp. was making games, they actually had Super Pro Auto Racing and Super Pro European Bike Rally in development...2 games that I was personally looking forward to seeing... - Ash

Uzumaki #82 Posted May 18, 2013 Crysis! It's a 16 bits system, it could do Crysis better than Atari 2600 or Colecovision.

Speaking of racers I saw this video posted in the TI99 programmer's section for a game on the MSX :- and thought it'd be kinda neat to see that done in coloured squares mode on the Inty. However, I don't have any plans for a game like that myself.

+GroovyBee #85 Posted May 19, 2013 I see a sixth Mars mini game... Nah! Using something like that race track effect would warrant a much larger game to do it justice. I think it'd make a good Spy Hunter style game.

I was joking, of course. It does look awesome and very doable on the Intellivision. -dZ.
ghsqb #87 Posted May 21, 2013 Would Spy Hunter be doable on Intellivision? The controller would be great for it, but can the hardware do it?
Certifiable #88 Posted May 21, 2013 How about a decent Zaxxon conversion? It's the only Coleco INTY game I never bought. Before I became a "completist" I had a rule about not buying games that sucked, and that one still brings a tear to my eye...
HunterZero #89 Posted May 21, 2013 Sword of Fargoal would work well on the Intellivision. - J
+GroovyBee #90 Posted May 21, 2013 Would Spy Hunter be doable on Intellivision? I don't see why not. You'd have to make some compromises like not having the score on screen while the screen is scrolling. The controller would be great for it, but can the hardware do it? I'm not sure it'd be a viable project to make new hardware in order to plug a custom controller like that into the Inty.
+GroovyBee #91 Posted May 21, 2013 How about a decent Zaxxon conversion? It's the only Coleco INTY game I never bought. Also possible but you'd have to look at the assets used in the original levels and pull out the key ones used because of the Inty's limited set of programmable tiles. You wouldn't get the score and lives on screen all the time in this game either.

What I meant was I think the stock controller would do perfectly. Keypad buttons could be used to deploy oil slick, smokescreen, etc. Top fire buttons for machine guns, bottom fire buttons to shift up and down allowing the disc free to control the vehicle. I really should learn how to code for this system, as that sounds like a fun project.
vprette #93 Posted May 22, 2013 (edited) Sword of Fargoal would work well on the Intellivision. - J I'm negotiating for the licence :-) it's a complex project anyway, dont know if really feasible Edited May 22, 2013 by vprette
Uzumaki #94 Posted May 28, 2013 What about Super Mario Bros-esque game? There's one just released for 2600, why not Intellivision? Stick with the classic running man logo for Mario (and green colored for Luigi in 2 players mode), and I'm sure it'd sell decently if it can be done.

Kieth Courage in alpha zones for tg-16 is a game that used fluid running motions as well.
