C-Rex2000 #1 Posted March 19, 2013 Hi, I have always owned 800XLs and STs I just picked up a 130XE off eBay. My question is about the video output. Can you just hook up an RCA plug to a converter out to a television or does it have some kind of monitor only cable? THANX, C-Rex

THANX, C-Rex The 130XE has the same DIN-5 monitor jack as the 800XL, with the proper cable you have the choice of monochrome, composite, or Chroma/Luma(aka s-video). http://www.8bitclassics.com/Shop/TI-99/Peripherals/8bit-savcable-5-Pin-DIN-to-S-Video-RCA-AV-Cable-6-Ft-New.html

And a channel select switch, 2 or 3. Depends on what sort of cable you have. The monitor port is probably better picture. You would use a composite for video and one for audio. These cables are sorta hard to find. Probably find one on e-bay, definitely find them at Best or B&C.or Video 61 or Ben Smith. It's been a while since I tried, but he didn't return my emails. I wonder if he's still there, or was on vacation, etc. The cables he has are EXCELLENT and he's a great guy, but I couldn't get through, and the reason I needed to get to EMAIL rather than just order is because the shipping calculator wasn't working, so shipping couldn't be calculated to complete the order, so the order couldn't complete!!! If anybody has ordered lately - either through the shipping calculator working again, or by email - please drop a note here! edit: When I just clicked on the above link (several times) I just get "The server at www.8bitclassics.com is taking too long to respond." message. Maybe they're gone? Edited March 20, 2013 by wood_jl

Maybe they're gone? A google search found links to their facebook/twitter pages where they posted yesterday. Pinging www.8bitclassics.com resolves to an IP address of 216.56.62.139, but fails to get a response. They may be having firewall or server issues, the email address they were using when I ordered from them about 2.5 years ago is corey(at)8bitclassics(dot)com, or contact them through facebook or twitter
