fibrewire #1 Posted March 21, 2013 Have a look at this redstone logic in Minecraft - wonder what it would take to build an Atari? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWALarlARSE
ilovethevectrex #2 Posted March 21, 2013 that would be HARD, but mabey not impossible. i saw a video of a pong game on minecraft, and it was about half as complicated. what games do you plan on making? if you did carts, then good luck with that :/
neglectoru #3 Posted March 22, 2013 The RedPower control mod has a 6502-inspired CPU, and a simple FORTH operating system. You could attempt to build a CTIA like contraption, but it would probably be very, very messy.
+Stephen #4 Posted March 22, 2013 Unbelievable - I can no longer tell my nephew (8 years old) that Minecraft is shit.
sack-c0s #5 Posted March 22, 2013 If you implemented a Atari in Minecraft would global warming unlock new graphics modes?
Mclaneinc #6 Posted March 22, 2013 Potty mouthed presenters!! Nice work by the maker of said computer but then again I can't see the point in Mine craft, does nowt for me, same with The Sims but my daughter spends hours and hours on Sims 3 as she has with the whole series, me I look at it and beg for a patch drying paint to look at. morelenmir #7 Posted March 23, 2013 I have never been able to understand the attraction of 'Mine Craft' myself. To me it seems to have all the fun of an 'Ultima Underworld II' level editor!
pixelmischief #8 Posted March 23, 2013 (edited) It would be more useful to make Minecraft on the Atari than the Atari on Minecraft. Edited March 23, 2013 by pixelmischief
ZylonBane #9 Posted March 24, 2013 I have never been able to understand the attraction of 'Mine Craft' myself. It's for people who have imagination and creativity, and apparently not for people who don't.
snicklin #10 Posted March 24, 2013 Hmm, now I know nothing about Minecraft, but the sneaky part of me is wondering if this is able to deliver any useful output? (i.e. a file perhaps). I'm not sure if processing would be quick enough inside there, but could you basically use the world of Minecraft to do a lot of calculations for you, and then deliver you some output? i.e. You're using their electric to calculate something? For example, you could have a Rastaconverter model! But would you need to be constantly logged in and stood next to the model?
+Allan #11 Posted March 24, 2013 My son loves it. It's about creating worlds. It's no different that making new levels of Load Runner when I was a teenager. Allan
