flashjazzcat #2 Posted March 22, 2013 1. Is LPT connector on the correct way around on motherboard header? 2. Try different parallel port configuration in BIOS.
+tf_hh #3 Posted March 22, 2013 (edited) Hi, i have problem with flashing SIO2SD with LPT cable.. like before i habe new MB on PC without LPT, then i buy PCI LPT.. LPT1 DC00-DC07 D880-D887 with old MB which have LPT works fine.. This is quite normal. These programs are awaiting the parallel register at the classical LPC/ISA address 0x378 and need direct hardware access to match needed timing and so on. Switch to USB. There are a lot of solutions, the one I use is the open-hardware project USBasp. Extremly cheap, can be build on a breadboard. It´s compatible to ATMEL´s STK500, so you can use AVRDUDE and all other tools they are supporting STK-500. Find schematics, infos, firmware and so on here: http://www.fischl.de/usbasp/ Juergen Edited March 22, 2013 by tf_hh
w1k #4 Posted March 22, 2013 its PARALLEL PCI CARD i dont have USB cable or external programer device
+tf_hh #5 Posted March 22, 2013 Please read my post again A free USB port you have, I think. The PCI parallel card is useless - none of these (old) programs will work with it. Get the few parts from link I wrote and you get a cheap but good working USB external programmer. Only the ATmega for the programmer must be programmed once with "old", but I think, you can do this with your old system. If you don´t want to DIY and have time, order it here: http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.de%2Fitm%2F261146114337 - less than 7 euros. +tf_hh #10 Posted April 10, 2013 here is.. how i connect it to sio2sd? These are the pinouts for 10-pin and 6-pin AVR isp connector. You´ve to make a little adapter cable for it. Juergen
