Ska_music_fan83 #1 Posted March 30, 2013 Hi all, So I have been trying to figure out ways of displaying my games without just using shoe boxes. I would like to buy some of the game cases specifically designed for each system such as this Atari game case that holds 36 games. http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2FAtari-video-game-storage-holder-case-2600-%2F360621917051%3F_trksid%3Dp5197.m1992%26_trkparms%3Daid%253D111000%2526algo%253DREC.CURRENT%2526ao%253D1%2526asc%253D14%2526meid%253D6615555866697924227%2526pid%253D100015%2526prg%253D1006%2526rk%253D1%2526sd%253D360621917051%2526 But I've realized that it could become a pricey task trying to get enough to display all my games since I have SNES, NES, Atari 2600/7800, Sony Playstation, Nintendo Gamecube and Sega Genesis games. I understand that any old cd holder/tower will work for my Sony Playstation games and I've recently discovered that old cassette tape plastic cases can hold loose Sega Genesis games such as this one. http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2FAlpha-Cassette-Holder-Storage-Plastic-Audio-Tape-Organizer-Case-Holds-15-to-24-%2F261190628003%3Fpt%3DUS_Media_Cases_Storage%26hash%3Ditem3cd02cb2a3 Has anyone else found other, cheap, perhaps homemade, means of displaying their games? Any advice/help is appreciated, thanks! -SMF83
Spoon #3 Posted March 31, 2013 I use bookcases. You can get them for about $30. Special edition games and console boxes can be put on display on top of cases, and games with boxes on the inside. The main problem you run into is that they're deep. So the commons/duplicates/not-played games get shoved towards the back, and the nicer pieces of your collection get moved towards the front. Not ideal for small cart collections without boxes, though. For loose cart collections, I'd recommend a large CD/media rack with a backing. Especially if it has adjustable shelving. I have one of these, and love it. Although I use it for just CDs, carts fit in there beautifully.

I'm a pretty crafty person and I like to recycle old things so I've lately been looking at odd cases and things lying around the house and trying to give them new life as a video game cases/holders so that is what originally brought this question up. Seob #5 Posted April 1, 2013 I use Ikea Kassett boxes to store my games, they come in different sizes like dvd and cd size. A 27x35x18cm box can hold i guess around 30 atari 2600 games with some spare room, if you stack them on top of each other. And for loose portable game system cartridges i use cheap plastic containers.
