NorfolkState2003 #5 Posted March 31, 2013 (edited) I would like to let all the AtariAge members know, I am will to negotiate on the pricing for this entire lot, please keep in mind however that this package will be nearly 20 pounds after finding a nice sturdy box and putting wrap and newspaper on the major items like the system and more sensitive items in this lot! I have sold systems, games and items for 10 years now and just started to do so on AtariAge, but I am very well known for being very caring with my customers when it comes to what they want. I will have other items put up for sale once this sells like Sega Mega Drive, Dreamcast, 3DS and other items from Japan, sold here in Virginia and are excellent items!! Many Thanks and Happy Easter to all that are reading this today! Edited March 31, 2013 by NorfolkState2003
Mark Wolfe #6 Posted April 1, 2013 That is the Japanese TopLoader right? to anyone out there that does not know, this model NES/FAMI has the A/V port in back found on SNES, N64, & GameCube, making the picture so much better, it is NTSC and you just have to be sure you use the correct power supply as it is different than the US version
NorfolkState2003 #7 Posted April 1, 2013 It is indeed the Japanese Top Loader, oh yeah thank you for reminding me on that Mark, the AC Adapter is infact an American AC Adapter. It was swapped out and works 100% on this system. The Japanese one would have worked just fine since it has a voltage limiter in these adapters so it wouldn't overload or underload. Mark Wolfe #8 Posted April 1, 2013 is the adaptor a NES adaptor? because I could not get it to work on mine, smoke started coming out lol
NorfolkState2003 #9 Posted April 1, 2013 This is infact an authentic Nintendo AC Adapter from a American Top Loader System. This was the only adapter I ever used on the AV Famicom and has always worked just fine on it! =D
Mark Wolfe #10 Posted April 1, 2013 ahhhh that was my downfall, I used a regular NES power adaptor... got it now... good safety tip kids... never mix n match your adaptors...
NorfolkState2003 #11 Posted April 1, 2013 Oh so true, when I purchased this a long time ago, I made sure to check the voltages and everything in between. I will compare this to the Original XBox 360 system, 1 main looking system, however depending on when it was made there can be upwards to a half dozen different adapters and the slightest misread you could be pumping upto 6 amps extra into the system and wham, it turns into flambé, lol. Mark Wolfe #12 Posted April 1, 2013 I'm totally hip to that, I usually DO check stats on adaptors but this one time I was not paying attention and grabbed the "NES" adaptor and put it into the J TopLoader and it started smoking and I pulled it out... luckily it still works fine, I thought I killed it, I do think there MUST be some difference between the U toploader and the J toploader aside from the A/V port because I did at one point own a US TL and it worked with a regular nes adaptor, I know this because my wife spotted the toploader in a thrift store for $5, no hookups, power or controllers, the guy didn't know what it was actually, so when we got it home I just used a normal nes adaptor and it worked, but it does NOT work on the J TL at all... PS: I wound up selling that one for $80
NorfolkState2003 #13 Posted April 1, 2013 To my understanding, the US Toploaders were RF only, although I have seen 1 that was with AV that was a US System, they were made in EXTREMELY LOW quantities, I think less than 500 or so. The Japanese ones were available in AV and RF, I just happened to get the AV unit with 1 game at the time (Famicom Wars), then made my dream collection. People will call me out being a baseball fanatic, however in that lot there is all 9 Famista/Family Stadium games. I dare anyone to find another auction that isn't mine that has all 9 available in a single auction, complete and all!! As always am willing to negotiate on these items since it is easier to negotiate with collectors than it is to normal folk on other auction sites. Mark Wolfe #14 Posted April 1, 2013 well my US version was RF I did not care for it because it did not have the video out like the old NES and it was worth so much more on ebay than the regular nes so I sold it, but mine was all scuffed up and I had to piecemeal it together with controllers that were not dogbone, so my $80 was a good sell but they are worth WAY more in better condition and complete and a hell of a lot more with the A/V adaptor and as complete as yours
Andromeda Stardust #15 Posted April 1, 2013 is the adaptor a NES adaptor? because I could not get it to work on mine, smoke started coming out lol Probably the only thing that smoked was the 5V regulator. It's an easy repair but too many people would just toss the thing out rather than fix it. Probably 90% of busted AV Famis are due to plugging an AC adapter instead of DC. I'm interested in the AV Famicom by itself if you are willing to split.
NorfolkState2003 #16 Posted April 1, 2013 Thank you Mark, I have always tried my best to keep all system in as great shape as humanly possible. I always believed in a principle of collecting, if you take care of your games and systems it will give you way more back in return than you ever would imagine. Some of the games in this collection I have had since 1983 or 1984, the system was bought 20 years ago, and the dogbone controller is infact and original! I just decided to add a non dogbone for a second player to play with this system. As for the games, I bought lots of them wholesale over the years got rid of what I didnt like and kept what I like. I am a huge Japanese baseball fan, and wanted every single baseball game possible, but that was an impossibility, however I demanded to complete the Famista series and I did. I have bought every single one except the one they made for Wii in its entire Nintendo history!!
NorfolkState2003 #17 Posted April 1, 2013 (edited) Stardust4Ever, I sent you a PM. Get back to me! Edited April 1, 2013 by NorfolkState2003
Mark Wolfe #18 Posted April 1, 2013 you should sell the Chinese 76-in-1 cart, and the Famista 93 and 94 games separately. DO see for this week if someone wants the package but I think we have so many great collectors here who are looking to fill in a small gap that selling separately will work better and probably bring you more $$ in the end... I keep eyeing up the fami disc system you have that you showed me, is that listed here yet?
