ninte 64 help?!

Recommended Posts

I finally found my Nintendo 64! so I plugged it in and got everything together. I turned on the system then the tv. I turned it to the av channel and.......nothing. all there was was a black screen! so I tried turning it off and back on. the screen flashed for a second then nothing. I did everything correct I put the cartridge in before starting the system. could it be the av cable?

You got anything in that little trap door on top of the N64? Even without the expansion pak the "filler" do hikey is required for operation...............

The system requires the Jumper Pak when the Expansion Pak is not present or else there will be no picture on the TV screen.

I've found N64 consoles to be very reliable, at least so far. I suggest cleaning one game (with rubbing alcohol) really good, then wrap a thin cloth around a credit card and soaking it with alcohol and cleaning the slot of the console. Make sure your power supply is working, with a meter if you can. Maybe you can try swapping the power cable or the video cable or the cartridge with a friend that has a N64 already working.
