Jason1024 #1 Posted April 6, 2013 Hello everyone, I finally got around to installing my Incognito board with the help of a local hardware guru. I had purchased a refurbished Atari 800 from B&C a while back which worked great and was hoping to "upgrade" it with this board. However, we ran into two questions that I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me with. #1 - It turns out I have a different CPU board than the one shown on Candle's install guide. Here it is: and Does anybody know where to connect the two (yellow, green) wires shown in Candle's instructions on this version of the CPU board? I'm game to buy the version shown if I can be sure it will work with the rest of the computer. However, it seemed worth asking here first. #2 - It looks like the ribbon cable I received has the connector that plugs into the motherboard mounted backwards as compared to Candle's photos. When aligned as shown in Candle's photos the red line is on the right and not the left. However, the connector that plugs into the Incognito board is aligned as shown . I can upload pictures if necessary, but this one seems very straightforward. My friend thought I could just rotate the connector with the pins 180 degrees when plugging it in but suggested checking first. Can I do this or do I need to find a way to reattach the connector? If the latter, any suggestions would be appreciated as my friend wasn't sure he had the right tools for this type of connector. Many thanks in advance for any help. Also, a big thank you to Candle for making this board happen! -Jason
+Firedawg #2 Posted April 6, 2013 Jason, what you have is the Rev. D CPU Card. Below is some pictures with some wiring for that card. The pictures were taken by Stephen on one of his installs. Hope that helps some.
Jason1024 #3 Posted April 6, 2013 Firedawg, thank you very much. This is the part / question I was most worried about of the two and you have nailed it, more or less in real time. You rock!
+Firedawg #4 Posted April 6, 2013 Firedawg, thank you very much. This is the part / question I was most worried about of the two and you have nailed it, more or less in real time. You rock! The real credit goes to Stephen for his pictures and reporting the correct wiring for this cpu card. I'm glad it helped. Mike
Magic Knight #5 Posted May 7, 2013 (edited) I installed this board without much trouble several weeks back and everyhting seems to work.....except my 800 wont accept cartridges (just a blue screen with cursor, or black screen or occasionally the self test screen). Ive dabbled with the resistor mod (R108 and R109 IIRC or RD4 & RD5) but had no luck with 1.5K values and 680 ohm (default) - anyone know why this may be? ( Install is here for a quick look> http://spiflash.org/index.php/block/30.html ) Its perfect apart from the cartridge compatibility being dormant. And ive tried combinations on the menu to see if its hardware being restricted etc. Edited May 7, 2013 by Magic Knight

Magic Knight #9 Posted May 8, 2013 Could you please give me some links to a thread on this or pointers to do this. My limited experience on flashing update on these type of hardware is limited, thanks
Stormbringer #10 Posted July 6, 2013 I've just finished my install and had the same CPU board, which is what lead me to this thread. I too have the same issues with carts, I have flashed the rom but have yet to replace the cart resistors. Maybe it needs both? I'll report back after they are replaced. David Alexander #11 Posted February 5, 2016 Hello, I am having a friend assist with the soldering and installation of my Ingonito Board. However can someone kindly explain to me what I need to do in reference to the flash cart. Is it simply used like the SD cart in my Harmony Encore Cart or do you have to prepare it with special files/folders/programs etc. I am not technically inclined so regular laymen explanation would be appreciated and thanks.
