retrorussell #1 Posted April 7, 2013 Hey folks, Has anyone played this game? What's it like? Got any videos/pics of it? Sounds interesting.
Manoau2002 #2 Posted April 7, 2013 Crazy Coaster requires the 3d imager to work properly. I couldn't find any links to any video on youtube. I think it would be difficult/impossible to film using an imager. This page talks about the imager http://vectrex.wikia.com/wiki/3D_Imager
fiddlepaddle #3 Posted April 7, 2013 I always wanted that game and a 3D imager. Never found the imager cheap enough though. I remember when they were in the display case at TRU and decided that $125 was too much.
Manoau2002 #4 Posted April 7, 2013 The current going rate appears to be over 400 for an unboxed imager. I dont think i will be purchasing one anytime soon. The lightpens are expensive too but there is a cheaper homebrew version.
Manoau2002 #5 Posted April 7, 2013 Crazy Coaster requires the 3d imager to work properly. I couldn't find any links to any video on youtube. I think it would be difficult/impossible to film using an imager. This page talks about the imager http://vectrex.wikia.../wiki/3D_Imager I stand corrected. I found a review of the 3d imager and the game crazy coaster on youtube. Look about 10 minutes in to see crazy coaster.
retrorussell #6 Posted April 9, 2013 Thanks for the responses; including the video! The idea of the game sounded interesting.. I would have liked to see a coaster game with a messy death for people that fell off the coaster.
Tempest #7 Posted April 9, 2013 I have the imager, but I'm missing the second color wheel that's used with Narrow Escape and Crazy Coaster. The 3D quality is 'ok-ish', but I don't think it's worth paying $400 for an imager. Anyone know where I can get a replacement color wheel? Surely those can be replicated easily enough.
