how uncommon is this? after going thru my entire collection of about 500 carts this is the only one that

i have found.also it seems that the locking board protector is missing the inner peice which i

thought had been removed by someone at some point but after much closer inspection it would seem

that this cart has never been opened(?) any info would be grateful)post-30830-0-88256000-1365808765_thumb.jpgpost-30830-0-75350000-1365808831_thumb.jpg

yes the spring is located under the top middle hole just have never seen one that has 3 holes and the slot protector does work.

have seen some without the inner piece and not work because the spring inside was to small and this one appears to be

a much bigger/longer one.

Are you saying there are 3 rectangular holes in the Yar picture? Can you draw arrows with some type of photoshop or other program to point out exactly where they are? I'd be interested in knowing myself. Maybe add some new variations to the list. :)

ok here is whats missing from the inside of the locking dust cover. i had to hunt for an image as i dont have any

of these on hand. either this cart was made with out one or someone took it out at some point.post-30830-0-86082200-1366034291_thumb.jpgthere is a groove on this that the wire spring sets in that keeps the dustcover

shut until put into the system.

Hope this doesn't sound dumb, but you did test this and it is Yars Revenge, right? i'm wondering if this was some overstock and is a proto with a Yars label slapped on it. If it's a sliding dust cover, it would just slide easily with no locking mechanism. I actually can't make heads or tails of your last photo. Is that the piece removed from the cart?

ok i hope these pics will clear things up). decided to open it up and this is what i found inside.

the cart snaps together as there are four tabs ( 2 on each side ) and you can see the three holes

and thelonger spring wire, also there are two tabs by the two lower holes that hold the board in place.

you can see the differences between the two dustcovers the one on the left is from the yars cart the other is from a combat cart. the yars dustcover is a free sliding type that looks like a locking type.

also the 3 peices are numbered 31-022(cart front ) / 31-023(cart back ) / 31-024 ( dustcover ) instead

of a co #.post-30830-0-34585200-1366154212_thumb.jpgpost-30830-0-16528500-1366153838_thumb.jpgpost-30830-0-68992200-1366153628_thumb.jpg

no there is no separate locking piece.there is a groove on the dustcover itself for the spring wire right where it would be if it had a separate

locking piece. also no locking piece will fit inside of this dustcover unless the groove is cut off the separate piece

that said then, this is a free sliding type that looks like a locking type) so then does anybody else have one or am i

just chasing my own tail).
