C64 or Vic composite or coax (for TI-99 4/A)

Recommended Posts

I recently picked up a TI-99 4/A but need to get an audio/video hookup for it. The cable I have currently is the one with those weird two-prong things on it, and I haven't had a TV like that in ages. Can someone hook me up with something compatible? I will be paying with a money order.

You mean the 300ohm connector? If you do, just get the 300 to 75ohm converter from Radio Shack and you can use the RF coax.

Pictures?

Ok, it looks like a 5 pin to a whatever the hell this is. Looking for a five pin to a coax or RF.

Tapatalk isn 't letting me upload pics. :(

bump for today.... no luck at radioshack. i'm gonna stay away from converters as i suspect that there may be a loss on resolution. i'm taking a trip to a couple of second hand vintage places today, so we'll see what happens.

if anyone has an 8-bit five pin coax or composite let me know!

Gotcha. Good luck finding one. If you do, it should be less than $15. Commodore (64 and VIC-20), Atari 800XL, and TI 99/4A all use the same cable.

Well, you could build one if you have a Fry's nearby. Just need a 5-pin DIN connector, two RCA jacks, and some wire.

Soldering is required. Just wires to connectors. The RCA end is easy, but the DIN end is kind of tricky. Small pegs to work with. Meh, it's probably best just to spend the $12 on ebay.

That's probably what I'll end up doing. I have never soldered before. Part of me thinks that soldering is a prerequisate for the kinds of stuff that we get into. But this might not be a good first project.
