MegaManFan #26 Posted February 20, 2003 Does the Game Cube adapter allow you to do the linkups like with Metroid Prime/Fusion? According to the reports I read, yes. Since the GC adapter is designed to let either your GBA or your GC pad to be the controller, it is possible to use a GC pad and still link your GBA to the GC. eric_ruck #27 Posted February 21, 2003 I saw a Japanese import one yesterday. Controls are too damn small for adult mitts. It was pretty neat looking, though, and the screen is an improvement (couldn't be worse). Rick
Pie #28 Posted February 23, 2003 *Thinks this is the time and place to pimp the GP32* How about getting a GP32 instead? The prices are similar, and there is now a full speed with sound pc engine emulator running on it (http://gp32.emu.pl/gpengine/). This means that you never need to actually spend money on games if you don't want to. Also, there is a working GBA emulator for it, its very very slow at the moment, but is being worked on. Other advantages are the mp3 player, and divx player…and a nice neo geo pocket style clicky stick. What more could you want? Have a look at some of the other games and emulators here http://www.emu.pl/gp32/index.php *will shut up about it now* Back to the topic, am I the only one who disagrees with the idea of having to buy a headphone adaptor? So what if its cheap, and the system is smaller because of it. Will they sell the screen as a separate accessory next?
Jetboot Jack #29 Posted February 24, 2003 Got my little silver GBA SP today - AWESOME - great light, great form factor. Its rechargeable, and its feels great in my hand... The screen is fabulous - its like a total revelation to finally play GBA games properly - its way better than a GBA with an afterburner... The headphone jack adapter is an extra BTW sTeVE

pestilent #32 Posted February 24, 2003 I got mine today. I reached into the shipping box and pulled out this little box, thinking that must be the AC adaptor?? Why would that be seperate from the Game Boy itself. That was the box for the Game Boy SP and the AC adaptor! Damn that thing is small!!
Mikau #33 Posted February 26, 2003 I can't wait for this, I play my GBA way too much, more than my GC... if I wasn't broke I'd import. Oh well, guess I gotta wait and get a crappy platinum or blue one. Time for a stupid story... Around Christmas I let my brother borrow my GBA for a day. Being the responsible college freshman he is I figured nothing would happen. Of course, he's a dumbass, and I was wrong. He dropped it onto its already fragile and damaged L button. So, on January 1st, I went on down to Stop N Save to trade it in for a new system. I couldn't get a warranty repair since I bought it used originally. I told them what was wrong, and all they cared about was whether it would turn on. The trade in was $40, so I got a new system for $30. Then 6 days later I found out about the SP. I was pretty mad that I had thrown $30 out the window... This was January 1st, and the SP comes out on March 25th. That's within 90 days. So I figure, hey, I'll return it for $70 when I buy an SP. But after checking Stop N Save's return policy, turns out I only get 14 days... Oh well. I know that story had nothing to do with anything, but I felt like posting anyways. But I did learn something... never let dumb older brothers ouch anything, and never buy used handhelds.

Jetboot Jack #35 Posted February 26, 2003 SO I've been playing my SP for 3 days now - and its a new breath of life into my GB playing (kinda like the Gameboy Lite did a few years ago, before teh GBC came out)... Its so cool to actually see the games properly the SP is such a sweet system, its great in the hand, very comfortable to use... I stopped buying GBA games ages ago - Breath of Fire was the last one I bought, but now I've just finished FF Zero and almost Sonic too - I can feel some game buying is gonna happen real soon (Saturday) - its so much better than the regular GBA!!!! sTeVE
