Wanted: Nintendo NES Audio Repair

Recommended Posts

My front loader NES plays games and outputs perfect video, but the audio doesn't work (via RF or RCA). It just produces a hiss, and a pop when the unit is turned on.

I I've tried jumping from CPU pin 1 and 2 to an RCA cable and it's the same, as if the system itself isn't producing an audio signal. I have everything hooked up correctly, and have tried various cables and devices (Stereo, TV) with the same result.

I've contacted a few repair services, but they're all priced above the cost of replacement. That seems like a shame since the motherboard, etc look practically like new. Could anyone here fix my audio problem for less than the cost of replacement?

Any chance you could post the solution you found to this problem. I'm running into the same problem on one I'm working on. I'm too heavily invested at this point to throw in the towel. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
