Best Christmas-Themed game... Anyone? ;)

Thats easy, Star Wars. Of course you need imagination, but surely everyone knows that the fight against the AT ATs was in a snowy winter wonderland. Carol is awesome, but not as awesome as Star Wars Episode IV - VI ;)

Are you comparing Carol to The Empire Strikes Back game for the Intellivision? :o

Of course :) You didnt asked for best gameplay of a Christmas themed game. By the way, I like The Empire Strikes Back. Its not brilliant, but pretty good.

I personally find it a bad clone of Defender, with wonky and unresponsive controls, and cheesy gameplay--and that's before it was compared to my game!

Hm, maybe you should make a new game with a Star Wars Winter Theme to recapture the throne :P I am sure you have no problems to make a better game, but its Star Wars...

Aha! And so the true purpose of your evil machinations is revealed! :)

I love Star Wars, but I personally prefer the Death Star trench battle (Battle of Yavin IV?). This is the reason why I liked Star Strike so much, even though everybody thinks its crap.

Star Strike is quite a good game. The 3D feeling is cool.

I think so. I think there should be a bit more sophistication in the game play, but it was good for the time.

Let's say, the game could go a little bit longer than 2 or 3 minutes. ;)

And so...

Best germ of a game concept realized as a Star Wars look-alike with a glorious 3-D animation effect that was rather effective for its time, even though the game is sort of short and cheesy: Star Strike

Worst port of a highly anticipated arcade title on the Intellivision that caused deep-seated childhood trauma to those who received it for Christmas: Coleco's Donkey Kong

Best port of a highly anticipated arcade title on the Intellivision that once engendered the worse port of the same highly anticipated arcade title on the Intellivision, and therefore fixed deep-seated childhood traumas: DK Arcade

Oh, I would say its tied with Buzz Bombers :)

Worm Whomper is much faster than Buzz Bombers. It has at least the double amount of poison in the air. *cough cough*

The game that can give you the "numbest thumb" - my nominees are: Shark Shark, Astrosmash, SNAFU.

You get a numb thumb while playing Shark Shark and SNAFU? From this selection my vote goes to Astrosmash, the only game I am using my thumb to press buttons.

Absolutely I get numb thumb from those games. Playing shark shark for almost 30 mins per game can get hard on the ole thumb. Same with Astrosmash, and we would play marathon games of SNAFU where you can move diagonally and also with the obstacles, sure made my thumb sore! ;)

I have to nominate Nova Blast for that. Ouch, my aching thumb!

shouldn't the award for star strike be "game to be made an example of as violence in video games"
