Where to buy ColecoVision game and systems outisde the US?

Recommended Posts

It seems most shops selling ColecoVision games and systems are in the US?

Outside the US it seems there basically is Telegames UK, and ebay to get ColecoVision stuff. Sure there are some shops specializing in retrogames, but they rarely seem to have ColecoVision stuff. AFAIK the ColecoVision was somewhat popular inUK, DE, FR, CA, BR, so there should be some places there.

Anyone know any (web)shops outisde the US selling ColecoVison stuff? Maybe there even is a list of shops carrying ColecoVison stuff somewhere?

I thought the UK Telegames closed down their colecovision sales a year or so ago?

It is true most of the places I have seen selling things seem to be in the U.S. luckily I am in the US.

I don't believe Telegames UK has anything left in stock but Lynx and Jaguar games. I have e-mailed them recently and they basically said nothing listed is still in stock and that all of the Colecovision stuff had been sold off.

That is what I thought. I thought I remember them saying they were going to stop supporting old systems and just continue with the newer stuff a couple years ago. I knew I wasn't going crazy. Not a word NIAD!! :)

Didnt they sell all their inventory to classic game source?

Classic game source did get inventory from Telegames many years ago and I believe a tornado or something had hit the Telegames warehouse and they sold all those and other games to Classic Game source to get out of the business after that. Telegames UK I believe is seperate and sold their stuff a couple years ago and it is possible they also sold to Classic game source but I do not know for sure.

Classic Game Source bought all of Telegames UK's stock maybe 7 years ago now. This was after Telegames UK tried to form another company called Direct4Games to liquidate their old stock piecemeal on Ebay. They basically shipped over 20,000 items to Classic Game Source in Florida by ship from what I recall. The owner of Classic Game Source was pretty unhappy when she learned that a lot of the items including thousands of Atari 2600 games were PAL versions. Not sure why more due dilligence wasn't done, but that's my understanding.

Interesting.

So that means Telegames UK must have got back into the game because I got back into colecovision end of 2009 or so and in 2010 they had a website with colecovision games and they were all pal but they were selling them. Now maybe Classic Game Source took over their website as well and I didn't realize that it was really classic game source that I was dealing with?

However end of 2011 or beginning of 2012 I remember seeing stuff on their site that they wanted to focus on newer systems and they were going to discontinue their colecovision page.

Did you actually buy any Coleco stuff from Telegames UK or inquire about ordering any? I've e-mailed them several times since the Classic Game Source buyout and each time I've received the same response from Pete the owner that they no longer have the items for sale. I agree with you that they have updated or revamped their site, but despite updating prices and items, I have never received a positive response from them of any of the dozens of items I have tried to order still being in stock. It looks like Pete now owns some kind of holiday resort/campground in the UK, so I doubt other than reprinting Lynx and Jaguar stuff that he has anything else left.

If I remember correctly I think I tried and was told the item I wanted was gone so maybe you are right about all this and the site was still there but no stuff

The site seems to not correspond well to what they really have in stock. It seems they have other ways of announcing availability and selling games. They bought some SCJ2 games from me in october, and had a more substantial number of cartridges of another ColecoVision game made in december, but neither game is listed their website.

It's a shame that some websites don't update their lists as their existences change, specially when they are sold-out. I've put several times an e-mail just to find there is nothing.

Here at Mexico the only place where I've found Colecovision items is at http://www.mercadolibre.com.mx, kind of Mexican eBay.

I never have bought anything as I got all first from US/Canada (thanks to Pixelboy and Yurkie) but in the last year I've seen at least three Colecovision systems and core of an ADAM at reasonable prices.

So, the list still stands at

Telegames UK,

Retrogames UK,

RetroGamesShop.

So we've covered the UK, but how about other places? South America? Europe?

I was just on good deal games website ( i believe its a us site) and they are selling a small number of original colecovision games besides the homebrew games they sell.

I think its hard to find too many retro game stores that sell online. I dont know of any in canada. I deal with atari2600.com regularly. It is a us site but they do sell worldwide.

As several of us have pointed out, you can delete Telegames UK as they do not appear to be selling Colecovision items anymore.
