Did some basement digging for my old systems and came up with these.

I did some basement digging the other day too I found a dead mouse. I like your find better!! There is a store by me selling a 400 and 2 carts. Its all working with all cables and power supply. They want $55. Its been there for a while is that a fair price? I got my 800xl but I still want that thing just cuz its more classic. I was considering trying to trade them my extra 99/4a and some of my game doubles to get a discount but still not sure if it's worth it.

What games are with that system? I would feel comfortable thinking $25 to 30 on a loose 400. depending if its a 2 port or 4 port. But if the games are better titles than pacman and defender it might be worth the 55.00

ALL 400/800 systems have 4 joystick ports! It's the XL/XE systems that only have 2 ports.

Bill I stand corrected then. I thought the 400 ( like the 5200) went through a period of time where there was a 2 port and a 4 port version. I know the 800 was a 4 port but wasnt sure with the 400. I was almost positive they had both kinds. Thank you for clearing that up for me :)

I'd happily take it for 55$ but unfortunately there's an ocean and a lot of postage for heavy shielding between us..... (but first series Ataris are more rare in Europe than in the US because the 400/800 were sold for a very short period of time only before the XL became available, at least that's what I remember).

Just saw that M.U.L.E. will require a 48K upgrade to run (still sold by BEST I think).

Come to think of it Shopgoodwill tends to be semi-decent if you are looking for A8 hardware. They come up often enough, but don't get bid up something crazy like many other retrogaming items do. I keep thinking I was super lucky when I got my XEGS. I ended up paying a little more than 60 bucks (including shipping from Nova Scotia, Canada) for the full XEGS with joystick, lightgun and the pack-in games, plus a 2600Jr with a joystick, paddles and ~25 commons. This was 2 and a half years ago.

does anyone know where I can get a Atari computer,NES or Atari for cheaper than 30 bucks?

You might also try local rummage/community/garage sales. The very few times that I have seen Atari computers "in the wild" have been at these types of sales.

Flea markets are hit-and-miss. The biggest one around here as a video game dealer with good selection, and very high prices. Some other random dealers have games (if not consoles) for cheaper prices, but not as consistently nor as good a selection.

I have not seen an NES or Atari 2600 console at a thrift shop in probably two years, though games do occasionally turn up.

Stock 16K RAM cards can be upgraded, see http://atariage.com/...name-that-mod/.

There is also the possibility of a Incognito type 400 upgrade from Candle.
