Cmart's cool recent new additions

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I recently picked up a number of cool new items via ebay and trades with fellow AA'ers and I thought I'd share a few.

First off, the "Special Home Version of Sega Arcade Game" French Canadian variation (The regular French Canadian version says "Plays like the real arcade game")

Next, two very hard to find French CBS versions of Venture and Zaxxon

Very nice additions to an already cool collection. Thanks for sharing! What I liked best? The PlayCable.....but only because I was unaware that 90% of the rest of it existed ;-) Looks like you'll have to update your ECS and Coleco threads. May I also suggest (down the road) an Activision thread ;-)

Thanks guys. :) I'm planning a massive CBS/Coleco thread, maybe for my 5000th post.

Are the MindStrike & Scooby Doo gatefolds identical to their English gatefold counterparts with the exception of the manuals? Or are there other differences?

Ahh Brazilian pirate carts! Cool that they exist, the "wild west" days of videogamedom were pretty crazy before everyone got their pants sued off for trying stuff like that...

The Playcable is really a museum piece!

The Shockvision make me very curious (the more you know about the Inty the more you realize there is still so much to learn and discover about this amazing machine!)

And the French Zaxxon is the same version I just bought: very glad I got a worthy C-Mart grade specimen! :-D

Cheers!

Nice finds! I'm confused about that Shock stuff from Brazil, though. How does this work? You have to plug the adapter into the INTV and then plug the game into that? Who made these? How did you know what you were buying if there was no game name on the box? What's the deal with the adapter? It's all so weird!

I'm not a collector by any means (the 5 club - anybody?) but the Shock vision carts look damn cool. I didn't realise that there was a piracy scene on the Inty back in the day at all. Any chance of some more images just of them?

Yep, you plug the cart into the adapter and then the adapter into the INTV. The game names are on the top of the box. :-D It's pretty crazy stuff huh? I guess I should post more pics.

I recently picked up a Super Gameboy that does a similar thing ;-)

in the case of most nintendo product it is just dirty contacts. nintendo makes high quality products.

:) Oh, it works fine. I meant that it is similar in that it adapts foreign carts. It was really dirty when I picked it up, and it also had a Warioland II cart in it. It cleaned up really well and worked flawlessly. Only $4!

Not that I would part with it for almost any price (never say never ;) ), but someone offered me $1300 for my Playcable today. Nope.
